Puerta de San Ildefonso, one of he gates of the famous Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba.

Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba is the Catholic cathedral of the Diocese of Córdoba dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and located in the Spanish region of Andalusia. The structure is regarded as one of the most accomplished monuments of Moorish architecture. According to a traditional account, a small Visigoth church, the Catholic Basilica of Saint Vincent of Lérins, originally stood on the site. In 784 Abd al-Rahman I ordered construction of the Great Mosque, which was considerably expanded by later Muslim rulers. Córdoba returned to Christian rule in 1236 during the Reconquista, and the building was converted to a Roman Catholic church, culminating in the insertion of a Renaissance cathedral nave in the 16th century.

Hello Daniel,
Besides the sight of the beautiful south gate, the place had always "invited" tired tourists to take a moment of rest, eat and gather strength to keep touring this magnificent large monument.
We made our stop on the north side of the walls, where it had more shadows under the June 1998 40C blistering heat...
Fine outcome of the details, bravo.

Coincidentally I also uploaded a shot from Cordoba today. It's a must see in Spain. The people add scale and density levels are perfect, giving good light contrasts and saturation. Tfs!

Hello Daniel, Beautiful view of this gate in Cordoba. Fantastic Mudejar art. Marvellous arches. The nice scene on the stairs. Difficult to guess that it was Christmas Eve. The people are enjoying sun like in spring.

Love the light, love the way the people are spread out and of course they make the scene even better with their presence. Casual and very real.
