Photographer's Note

A couple enjoying a stroll along the Cordoba Bridge spanning the Guadalquivir River. It's known as the Roman Bridge of Córdoba (Puente Romano de Córdoba) & dates from the 1st century BC The structure on the right of the gate in the bg is the Grand Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba, which dates from 784 AD. Before this a small Visigoth church stood on the site. It was recaptured in 1236 AD during the 'Reconquista' and a cathedral was constructed in the nave during the 16th century AD. The combination of Moorish and Gothic architecture is truly stunning.

Hello Chris,
This photo shows once again that a well placed lady in red (and in this case also a man wearing almost Swedish colours) is never wrong. The bridge has become fairly anonymous, but there are lots of impressive buildings in the background, including the mosque/church. The superb light and colours are integral parts of the composition.

Chris, that ancient bridge has crossed the ages. It leads to Cordoba historical monuments visible in the bg. The couple animates the scene, they enjoy a stroll during their visit of the city. It was a sunny summer day. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello Chris, a lovely view from the bridge taking in the distinctive architecture of Cordoba.
You had the best possible weather, and with such a vivid blue sky. The people animate the scene; fortunately there weren't hordes of people to distract us from the view.

Hi Chris,
I had the pleasure to walk around this spot also including the bridge which I have in my TE gallery.
However I didn't have such a great light. The sky was more milky when I was there and the subtle fog caused the colors to fade.
You had an amazing light. Of course PL filter emphasized it but it feels so sharp and clear.
Nice couple adding a romantic touch and yellow and red colors as well...

A fantastically clear day with an amazing blue sky behind the warm colours of the fascinating architecture with lots of different elements and styles. The composition is well-balanced and I like the inclusion of the people on the left.

I visited this town twice, but I don't remember this gate in the bridge. it was times of analogical photos and not so many of them left. nice details of the area with the people in evidence and the architecture ahead.

You have chosen a fine aspect to use the wall as the guiding line and, for a sense of perspective.
The couple in the f/g become a very useful focal point, with the surround of beautiful buildings creating the most amazing theatre for them.

Some parts of the known monumental gate are recently renovated, Chris. Surely added a nice elegant sight to the old quarter of Cordoba.

you can just tell that this is a great place for tourists, even from this limited viewpoint, it looks very peaceful and friendly and welcoming. Are you telling my that Gate is or bridge is really THAT old...how is it still standing today? amazing. So frustrating that new construction 50 years ago is falling apart already...what's with construction today????
