‘Malaga - The well integrated Santa’

Santa Claus may live on the North Pole, far from everything and everyone.
But during his annual visit to other regions, he adapts perfectly to local customs.

In Spain he respects the afternoon siesta, so popular with the locals.
And since Santa does not have a house in Spain, his siesta is kept on a bench in the street.

Picture from exactly one year ago, Paul, and a beautiful place with the tall palms.
The Santa on the bench was merely a bit tiered from giving presents to children, hopefully...

Bien vu ce père Noël se reposant sur le banc un 23 décembre ! Originale ensemble entre ces superbes palmiers qui font inévitablement penser à l'été et ce père Noël et sa tenue d'hiver, bien vu ! Et Joyeux Noël !

Haha, tja, het zijn drukke dagen voor de kerstman, dus ik snap dat hij af en toe even een dutje moet doen. De plek onder deze enorme palmbomen lijkt daar erg geschikt voor. Mooi, helder zijlicht had je hier. Fijne kerstdagen!

De kerstman is zulk mooi weer in de winter niet gewend en wordt daar natuurlijk slaperig van en er is ruimte genoeg om een dutje te doen. Ik vind dit soort situaties met slapende mensen in openbare ruimte altijd aantrekkelijk voor mijn camera, maar een kerstman ben ik nog niet tegengekomen. Wel een clown.

Een paar jaar oud, maar foto's hebben geen leeftijd.
Ook deze plaats zal nog zoveel veranderd zijn, misschien is Santa Claus nu wel verdwenen of vervangen door een ander exemplaar.
Heel mooi foto werk en wat animatie met het koppel met hun kinderwagen.

Hi Paul,

Malaga looks positively tropical. The palms trees are the same height and shape as coconut palms in the Philippines! Good sharpness and Santa looks like he's had an exhausting day! Tfs!

Quite surprising Christmas theme shot. Santa in his red clothes adds a nice splash of colour to this scene. Twisting palmtrees are quite fun too.

the siesta of Santa, what a great scene here!!
But, siesta is a ancient tradition in Spain, and Santa is not immune to it.
I like the nice deep sense of the image, where the high palm-trees fill the efficient vertical framing.
Light, colors and sharpness are very good.

Uma cena bem vista haha! O Papai Noel deve estar se preparando para sua longa viagem daqui uns dias... Outra coisa que me chamou muito a atenção também foram as palmeiras, são muitas e todas "emboladas". Bom enquadramento, luz, cores e nitidez.

I see you made a break from Ukraine reportage to share a Christmas related picture.
I was so focused on the palm trees I wouldn't even notice people there.
Lovely spot.
I would love to have a nap with a view like this :)
I suppose this is why California is so popular among homeless people...

Even though Christmas has passed, it's still nice to see a fun photo with Santa. :-) I like it when we find him in unexpected places. In my gallery, Santa tried to fit in with NYC hip-hop culture, while in Spain he takes a siesta. :-) I like the tall palm trees and sunny sky, too.

Lovely warm looking shot, it's vibrant and a visual feast for the eyes suffice to keep my eye busy. Think he's been celebrating too much prematurely, are the reindeer off duty for the day! Ho Ho Ho - seems most appropriate festive photograph and quite a lovely colour filled scene in particular the red's very nicely. A wonderfully articulate image, Congrats
