Photographer's Note

Laurisilva or laurissilva ("laurel forest") is an endemic type of humid subtropical laurel forest found on several of the Macaronesian islands of the North Atlantic, namely Madeira Islands, the Azores and the Canary Islands, a precious relic of the Pliocene subtropical forests.

The forests are made up of laurel-leaved evergreen hardwood trees, reaching up to 40 meters in height. Many of the species are endemic to the islands, and harbor a rich biota of understory plants, invertebrates, and birds and bats.

This picture was taken in a forest in Tenerife (Canary Islands) named Monte del Agua (Mountain of the Water), in the NW part of the island. The fog and this special forest help to create a very magic atmosphere.

Hello Victor,
A view that very well reflects the foggy atmosphere of these laurel forests.
Good dark natural colours and well composed too. I had the occasion to visit this unique environment in Tenerfie and in La Palma.

Me encanta la foto compañero. Es un bosque precioso, solo le faltan los duendes (aunque seguro que los tiene). El ambiente brumoso contribuye a hacerlo mas misterioroso aún.

La foto es realmente muy bonita. Me gusta mucho la composición y la exposición es buena... pero mejorable. Si pudieras ver, por ejemplo, con más detalle el árbol de primer término, la foto sería más espectacular.
