Photographer's Note

If I live in Barcelona could I left abandoned Gaudi?
If I don't do I could not end this long road.

I know, I am not very fan of Gaudi, but in the last months I've been a few times in the Pedrera and I think that I can show you some interestings visions of the particular world of Gaudi.

The roof of this famous building is plenty of chimneys and I could take a photo of the golden light of the evening where was projected the shadow of man who was also contemplating this place. Of course, I wanted the shadow of the man, is not a mistake.

At the end you have the links to two WS.
In the next days I will post even more photos of this place.

Also, dedicate this photo to Izzet, who the past november was in Barcelona and also in the Pedrera.

¿Viviendo en Barcelona podría dejar abandonado el particular mundo de Gaudi?
Y es cierto, no soy un gran apasionado de Gaudi, pero no podría acabar este camino sin dar mi pequeña aportación.

En las últimas semanas he estado tres veces en la Pedrera y aquí podéis ver una de las fotos tomadas en este carismático edificio del genio barcelonés, Gaudí.
Y es precisamente su techo en lugar que cientos (en verdad miles) de turistas toman cada día y hacen suyo. Esta terraza cuenta con unas enigmáticas chimeneas que tienen una decoración que, como toda la obra de Gaudí, es especial.
Y lo que busqué en la foto fue el reflejo de la luz dorada del atardecer sobre una de estas chimeneas y la sombra de unos de los muchos turistas proyectada sobre la chimenea. No es un error, pues, es algo hecho expresamente.

En los próximas días pondré más fotos de la Pedrera, pero por ahora decir que los dos links de abajo son dos WS de la foto y también que dedico la foto a Izzet quien en Noviembre estuvo en Barcelona. Un muy buen fotógrafo y una excelente persona.

Shadows seems to be the flavour of the month, well at least I'm noticing them a bit more. I like the more artistic feel to this shadow photo Carlos, the shades of orange and unusual contours of the wall make a nice background.

Me agrada la inclinación que la forma de la pared da a la sombra. Me da la impresión de que accentua las curbas de la estructura y nos precipita hacia la base y su boca llena de oscuridad y misterio.
Los colores de la luz del atardecer son tambien muy agradables.

Excellent almost abstract shot. The shadow is in just the right place in the frame. It seems that to take something unusual from one of the Gaudi sites you must go in the dark. The structure in the centre reminds me of a huge egg-timer. I guess that would not be unusual for Gaudi as he used things around him as his inspiration, although admittedly natural forms.
Very well done and yes I prefer the colour version. Your other Ws is also good and could have been a main post.

Personnaly I like Gaudi's work. To me, he's a genious, so audacious!
You could have chosen to show the chemenies that looks like faces or masks...but no, you chose a detail of forms and gave more room for real human silhouette. Your pic is interesting in this way, using one of symbol of the city made of concrete but placing a human shadow in the framework. A way of reminding us that Barcelona isn't just Gaudi's "gaming place" but also at city made of people! :o)

Well, I AM a fan of Gaudi, cannot help it, just am.. and this shot is so beautiful with its richness of SOUTHERN warm colours (here it is sooooo cold now) and the shadow of the man passing by... interesting how he leans forward, very poetic. Eres un artista Carlitos . Estuve una vez en la Pedrera e intuia que ese lugar podia estimular muchisimo la imaginacion y el ingenio , todas esas formas , rincones . Tu has superado esas expectativas . La foto es simplemente fli pan te !

Maniana Mian (no hace falta comentar mucho) pasara como mucho 2 horas en BCN , hasta mediodia antes de pirarse a Budapest desde el Prat . Estara atento por si ve al superCoco . Si no lo ve , lo mejor para el , este y todos los anios

Hi Carlos,
This could not be a photo. This is surely a painting. The artist has played in a very beautiful manner with the light and the reddening shadows... The curves are so soft and pure, the shadow of the man so clearly and skilfully drawn, that it is surely made by a great painter.
What? Are you telling me that it is a photo? A combination of Gaudi, the master with the unbridled imagination, and Carlos eyes and skills? Oh! Well, in this case, I have to say that you know how to paint with a camera...

You are right to say that there are many photo possibilities comnbined with Gaudi's works. Many many thanks for the dedication which I found whil looking at your pictures. I must have missed this corner or perhaps I don't see too well because it is a detail. Excellent cobination of the chimneys, the elongated shadows and the man's shadow.

This is wonderful. I like Gaudi because he thought "outside the box" and I think this photo is outside of the usual too. There must be many shots of Gaudi's work on TE but this is something different and special. The colours, the light, the shaows and the shapes suggest a modern painting, indeed a work of art.

Bueno, vale... no puedo "críticar" esta foto...sólo comentarla...

Se me hace una alegoría del hombre y el tiempo, poética...casi encerrando la sombra en un enorme reloj de arena que marca el paso de nuestros días, el devenir de cada día que se filtra por la arena y va cayendo poco a poco...hasta que se agota...

Así que basta de milongas y vamos a aprovechar cada granito...
