Photographer's Note
Plasencia is a city placed in the north of the province of Cáceres, on the banks of the river Jerte, in the Autonomous region of Extremadura, Spain.
It is provided with a population of 39.785 inhabitants according to the information of the National Institute of Statistics, for the year 2007, nevertheless according to the information of the municipal electoral roll in the town hall of the city, Plasencia is provided with a population of 42.190 inhabitants, being in any case the second city centre most filled with the province with Cáceres.
The geographical region in which Plasencia settles presents a continental soft climate, with very warm summers and soft winters. Bearing also in mind that the climate in this zone is much influenced by the microclimate of the Vale of the Jerte and the near Saw of Gredos, which on the one hand smooth the temperatures and avoid the extreme values that happen in other points of the peninsula and for other given the longitudinal orography of the saw of Gredos, there take place major precipitations than in the rest of the central plateau.
The rains are abundant and they are located in a pitchfork that ranges between the 800 and 1000 mm per year, being scarce during the summer epoch, being also Superiors to those who register in other Extremaduran capitals.
The name of the city comes from the motto given by king Alfonso VIII in the shield granted to the same one, this is: " Ut Placeat Deo et hominibus ", that is to say: So that it pleases (plazca) God and the men: Plasencia means, consequently, City of Delight or of Pleasure.
Nevertheless, the foundation of Plasencia did on a more ancient great establishment previous, which was known by the name of Ambracia or Ambroz.
In his emplacement there have been remains of a Celtic fort. It was during the Roman Empire a military camp of the Roman legions, and Arab citadel until it was reconquered by Alfonso VIII and re-founded as Free City in 1186. In the same year there was begun the construction of his defensive wall.
Park of The Island, in the island that forms the river Jerte to his step along the city after opens in two arms, one of them known as the river boy.
A very agreeable place to walk, to relax and to bathe in summer epoch.
I had it to five minutes of my house and it is a very affectionate place for me, where I spent very good moments.

Brilliant autumn composition Charo. The scattered leaves in the foreground stands out against the green and the blue sky. Good shutter speed of 1/100s to capture the steam giving a wonderful result. Love it Gerald.

Magnifique prise de vue et très bonne composition. J'aime beaucoup ce merveilleux paysage et ça fait très joli les feuilles d'automne en avant-plan et le bleu de la rivière. Bel endroit tranquille mais je crois qu'il y a un peu trop de courant pour prendre un bain.

Hello Charo,
A fine composition with the beautiful fall colors and vegetation along the roaring river. The colors are very beautiful and the scene well shown, a note, try using a Neutral Density Filter on the lighter areas beginning at the top of print and it will even the scene out more and allow for more contrast when needed.

It must be nice to live near so beautiful and natural scenery within minutes walk.

increíble variedad cromática se encuentra en esta escena.Ciertamente, el otoño nos brinda multitud de colores, y la fotografía es un claro ejemplo. Magnífica estampa otoñal, acompañada de este abundante cauce del río,gran dinamismo y profundidad a la imagen.

Hola Charo,
a very appealing colour composition with that green, redbrown and blue in the beginning. The river and its motion adds life and the good shadow in the middle supports the warm sun impression. Very nice view with good depth.

Belle photo de cet endroit ensoleillé au couleurs de l' automne, du moins pour les quelques feuilles sur le sol et les quelques manque de feuilles sur les arbres, sinon vous avez su trouver un endroit ou il semble presque que le printemp revien, domage, triste réalité, c' est bien l' hivert qui arrive. Bonne netteté, jolies couleurs et beau coup d' oeil sur ces ilots.
