Photographer's Note
Yesterday afternoon I had the possibilty to check the view from Mariaberget overlooking Mälaren and Riddarholmen. This is one of the most shown Swedish views on TE but I tried to move in closer for my version.
The buildings on Riddarholmen are among the older in the city and have an interestin architecture, a nice mix of shapes and plastercolors.
The ship made me mark this as Transportation but as it since many years is a restaurant it is not going anywhere.
The light shows us that spring is moving in, this was shot around five pm. But we hava had a cold winter, or at least a winter with few "sort of warm" days so people are still daring to take a short cut over Mälaren. But not far to the right of this picture the ice is slowly breaking up.

It must be colder were you are to , because we can't walk on the harbor around here . Is this in the north of Sweden ? Jim

Hello Ebbe,
Nice picture, the ship is really in the ice. All the bottom of the picture with ice and snow makes the picture a bit strange because the top is dark. Normally it is the opposite, the clear part is the sky i the top.
Well done.

Hi Ebbe, wonderful light. I know this view, at least like you say, it is often shown on TE, justly, as it is very nice, and the colors of the buildings are warm and pleasant. The snow on the ice with the crisscrossing lines form a nice pattern and the person in the middle is a good human addition. We are waiting for spring here, it is still very cold with strong cold winds

Hi Ebbe,
This is a beautiful scene! Great POV and lighting. Interesting architectural details too. The presence of this person in the middle of all of those footprints really enhance the composition of your picture. Well done!

Hi Ebbe,
Good tele shot still showing strength of winter. But that really starts to look daring, considering streams and time of spring.
Nice old architecture and ship.

Original and creative shot from the frozen lake. The ship and the man just in for two very contrasting details. Well seen Ebbe

I was thinking it was a river and the boat got caught in the ice. :)) I see it's so different. I like the intersecting traces on snow, the ship that stands there confusing the viewer and the buildings - very rectangular, exact, but with pleasant warm colours begging for the sun to come back. :)
