Photographer's Note
The warm light of the winter sun found its way down into the outer courtyard of the Royal Castle in Stockholm and for a while it brought back some power to the guns and the barrel covers. The colors are supposed to be the Swedish blue and yellow but the sun and the rain have faded the blue to a paler shade. Sort of symbolizes what happened to the power these guns are representing. Sweden was once a super power, 400 years ago, that faded, and the Royal family in Sweden once had power, that faded too. I think we can be lucky for both.

Or even 'Capped Power'. This is a very powerful symbolic
image. Interesting that one of the most warlike countries of Europe has come to be the empitome of peaceful liberalism. Maybe the power, in the form of influence, is still there, just not so overt.

Very interesting detail for me Ebbe :-)))
Becouse I'm studying at Military University of Technology and will be a "barrel weapons specialist", but working in completely different discipline as a cyvilian.
Well done!

Nice DoF, the blurred background emphasize the beautiful details of the gun cover, which is not really well painted but these painting imperfections and the good framing make the shot

Thick paints and strong direct sunlight produces very good results, and it is very good in this case, too. The texture of the too thick paint is great, the dof is effective and the crop is excellent. Good work, Ebbe.

Very fine compostion and set up you found for this shot Ebbe - I agree with the rest and your self - theres surely much symbolic in the image too - However do I spot some nice reflections and warm (ok faded) colours - so things not that bad after all ;-))
