Ascona pier, a photo from Ticino, East

Photographer's Note

Ascona is a charming little town on the Swiss part of Lago di Maggiore. Lakeside promenade is just great. This view is from a hotel room balcony. If you check my earlier photos from Ascona, you can see that I had the same room as in 2018.

Lovely picturesque view, well taken, from an area I don't know very well. I even thought Ascona was somewhere in Italy. Shame on me. Thanks for showing this & clearing this up :)

Hello Kari,
A great view from a nice vantage point of the calm lake, surrounded by majestic mountains. The small pier and cafe in between the trees is very charming as well. Good timing with the boat as well.

Hello Kari,
Did you specifically ask for the same room to take the daytime photo you forgot three years ago? We see a lot more this time, and it's a very attractive view, especially with the fine old boat arriving to the jetty. It's probably the same boat actually.

Splendid view over the Lago di Maggiore, the mountains at the other side and the houses built on the steep slopes.
The arriving boat is placed well in the photo. It's also beautifully reflected in the blue water.
This looks like a very nice place.

I love the scenery of mountains and lakes but the inclusion of the boat and the docking station attracts our immediate attention, to give depth and scale to what we see beyond!

A good elevated vantage point, with perfect density levels and sharpness. Nice repetition of the tables and chairs. The pier adds linear perspective out towards the boat and lake. Tfs!

Hi Kari,
this is an amazing sight and you were really priviledged to have such a great room.
The eleveated point of view allowed you to well include the departing pier but also to raise above it and show the specytacular distant panorama.
This is such a beautiful destination!
