Photographer's Note
This series of photographs is offering a short journey around Switzerland, a landlocked country geographically divided between the Alps, the Swiss Plateau and the Jura, bordering with France, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Italy.
Switzerland (the Swiss Confederation) consists of following 20 cantons (states) and 6 half-cantons: Aargau, Appenzell Ausserhoden*, Appenzell Innerhoden*, Basel Landschaft*, Basel Stadt*, Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Glarus, Graubünden, Jura, Lucerne, Neuchatel, Nidwalden*, Obwalden*, Schaffhausen, Schwyz, Solothurn, St. Gallen, Thurgau, Ticino, Uri, Valais, Vaud, Zug and Zurich (*=half-canton).
From each canton I’ll post 2 photos and from each half-canton 1 photo, total 46 photographs.
Neuchatel
The canton Neuchatel is located in the western part of Switzerland. It lies in central in the central area of Jura Mountains and on the Lake Neuchatel. It shares borders with Canton Bern, Canton Vaud and France. The capital city is Neuchatel.
I’ve taken this photo in the Neuchatel city center, Place des Halles showing famous hotel & restaurant, Maison des Halles, built in 1569. Tthe building was in the Middle Age, a hall dedicated to trade and trade negotiation.
Neuchatel is located 45km west from Bern and 151km southwest from Zurich.

Hello Miro,
great picture, which shows us the beauty of Neuchatel´s architecture.Impressive are these clouds emerging from behind the mountains in the BG.They look really nice. But also the architecture is delightful with the small, pointed towers and a lot of ornamentations around the windows.
Best Regards

Hello Miro,
The photograph has some nice cloud formation as well as the quaint towers with flags on them. The empty chairs of the roadside restaurants are still empty as it not yet lunch time and the lone animated man is walking down the road. Nice work to shoot this frame but still lacks sharpness to a larger extent.
Regards,
Farhat

Miro,
I like how the buildings almost appear to come out of the umbrellas. Nicely composed to make the spires the centre of interest.

The three turrets in unique shape, dominating the town's sky-line, Miro, providing a good view with the square in picture.
Town seem to be vibrant, as I see tourists take a break in the cafe' shops.
You show a fine swiss architecture's here.

Ciao Miro
bella l'architettura caratteristica e piacevole la piazza nell'insieme.
Un luogo tranquillo, ma che deve riempirsi di persone, visto la quantità di tavoli e sedie pronti per l'accoglienza.

Hi Miro,
The wideness of the Place des Halles is giving depth to the composition. The presence of the people is giving life to the scene. The poit of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the buildings. Have a nice day.

Hi Miro,
I had been close a few times, but never quite made it to Neuchatel...always wished I had, and now seeing this image makes me regret not getting there even more so. I don't know whether to enjoy this, or be sad that I haven't seen it with my own eyes. :)
A wonderful composition, the centerpiece building with its rooftops stretching upwards is a very striking visual. What I enjoy the most though is that there's still a charm and ambiance in the square that is hard to describe...it just looks and feels quintessentially Swiss. The clouds in the background add a great effect too. One of these days I'll get there...one of these days for sure. :) Enjoy the day ahead. Take care.
Friendly wishes,
Jason
