A la toni_al, a photo from Vaud, West

Photographer's Note

One thing about living with a Trek Earthian and then becoming one is that you learn to not place the horizon smack bang in the middle of the photo. But from there to having an enormous sky, I guess I've been influenced ;-)

About the village, Denens is situated about 4km north of Morges, has splendid views of Lausanne, Lake Geneva and the mountains and is known as the scarecrow capital of Switzerland.

Un aspect de vivre avec un Trek Earthien puis d'en devenir une est qu'on apprend de ne pas placer l'horizon au plein milieu de la photo. Mais de là à un ciel énorme, je crois que j'ai été influencé ;-)

Concernant le village, Denens est situé 4km au nord Morges, a des vues panoramiques sur Lausanne, le Lac Léman et les montagnes et il est connu comme la capitale suisse de l'épouvantail.

Hi Nikki,
Next month i am spending some days in Switzerland for photography. When i see such sky's as this one i would be more than happy..!!!
I like larges pieces of sky, espacially when there is a lot going on, like this one..!!!
I really like this picture, bright and crisp colours with a lot of detail.
Very nice....great work..!!

tu sais que tu as de bonnes fréquentations !!!
et je suis bien sûr tres partisant de ces cieux démeusurés, tu as pu t'en rendre compte.
ces petits cirrus sont tres photogéniques et la minuscule lune parait tres humble à leur coté.
un leger penché qui n'altere en rien ton image.

Hi Nikki.

Same sky as Radims, but different polariser and different continent.
Interesting choice of big sky, I rarely do it, but here it really works, as it is more atractive than the green grass.
I see the moon also there.
I would have tried a composition with the repeating trees on the bottom left corner.
Toni_al must be very proud of you.:)

Bonjour Nikki,
un cadrage qui met en valeur un ciel serein aux couleurs tendres et finement garni.
La campagne est quant à elle verdoyante.
Parfaite expo, les lumières sont belles autant que les coloris.

Salut Nikki,
Je vois qu'il te reste quand meme qq photos avec du soleil sur ton disque, meme si c'est pas en Alsace... Ici le ciel etait interessant a cause des nuages et du dynamisme de ces formes cirees et leur consacrer une place importante marche bien. La luminosite sur le champ et le village aide aussi bien a produire une vue tres lumineuse.

Moi j'aime beaucoup ces cieux, ou les nuages nous donnent l'impression de danser avec la lune.
Le paysage baigne sous une superbe lumière et les montagnes au fond donnent du charme.

Hi Nikki - wonderful emphasis on the sky, beautiful light, I like the 3 different layers of clouds, and the tiny moon adds a nice touch. The scarecrow cpaital of... is an interesting statistic, I thought only english speaking countries proclaimed their settlements to be the whatever capital of the world.

Impressive sky indeed. I like two types of clouds here, one type just above the horizon and the second one higher all over the sky. They deserve such large space. Beautiful photo.
