Autumn Begins, a photo from Lancashire, England

Hello Everyone,

Today has been one of those autumn days that you look forward to.

The sun is shining, the breeze is still and everyone seems to have a smile. It is time to look at the beauty of nature and record what you see!

Though most of the shrubs are evergreen, in the background you will be able to see trees which are turning rusty brown.

The scene was taken beside the old tram tracks, which I featured earlier in the year.

HI Bev,

I like the play between the lighted and shadowed areas. The point of view is showing the details of the trees and of the houses. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Bev,
Autumn seems to be a lot later in northern England than in south-central Sweden, but the trees in the distance are developing very nice colours. But what really strikes me are the carefully "manicured" (I can't think of the proper word) bushes and hedges in the foreground. They look like they belong to a Palace garden. Is this area private property, belonging to someone with a lot of money or time to spare, or is it common ground tended by a gardener paid by the village community? It looks very impressive in any case. The photo is neatly framed by more or less natural features.

What a wonderful undulating landscape.
The hedge in the foreground enhances that feeling of an undulating terrain.
It's a pity that there is no longer a tram that runs through this landscape. Still a great place to walk, and also to live.
Very nice composition and great photo that actually still feels very summery.

Very nice composition with well maintained garden.
The light was glorious. I occasionally see great light these days but it is usually on the way to work or school or shopping and never when I would have time to explore and enjoy.
You have made a very good use of that light here.

Beautiful autumn weather. Sun shines from cloudless sky and it seems that autumn colours just start to appear. Good angle towards that path. With tighter framing the shadows on foreground and right would be less prominent.
Quite a difference to Finland. It has been cloudy and rainy and trees have been leafless already for weeks.
