Down Came the Snowflakes, a photo from Lancashire, England

Good Morning Everyone,

Such a heavy snowfall, in November, is very rare. From the warmth of the house, it was fun to watch the snow descend and change the normal features into something of a wonderland!

For a while, most people followed the same example as us and watched from indoors but the following day, children and adults alike came out to enjoy the sights.

Beautiful as it was, the lane is very steep and treacherous to cars. The wagon spreading grit was soon in evidence for the benefit of road users.

I will add a view of one of the nearby cottages, as a workshop.

(Most of the snow has now gone, after overnight rain and I'm pleased to say, our water supply was reinstated by early evening, yesterday!)

Hello Bev,
Fresh snow looks nice as long as it lasts. I am not surprised to learn that this view now belongs to history. The photo benefits greatly from the many bushes, flower pots and other items that look so different when covered with a thick layer of snow. The steps in the WS look rather steep and possibly dangerous when slippery.

This is real a good winter moment in your country.
Of course the picture with snowflakes show the reality of the day.
Two pleasant pictures, I see gladly winter pictures but I am no winterman, I've always cold!

Seeing this picture, realized for the first time that snowflakes contrast gray over sky in the backdrop and white against a darker background, like the building across.

You have capture well the fall of the snowflakes. The point of view is showing the details of the house. The reflection of the light on the snow is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Hi Bev,
Snow really gives a completely different look to your yard. Those flakes are big and give extra charm to this view. It is snowing in Tampere too, and forecasts say that it is not going away for a while.

We may still live in advanced parts of the world, weather conditions can still have a major impact on our lives. For example, due to power or water interruptions.
I can't bear to think that some places are without power for days during special winter conditions.
The snow came to you early in the year but also disappeared quickly.
In those days, no robins came into the garden in search of food? They are less shy in difficult weather conditions.
I notice that the snowflakes at the top of your photo are darker in colour.

A great out the window snow photo - that's a couple today (yours and Krzysztof's) and a good one also in the WS when you ventured outside.
It is also interesting that you are getting all this early snow whereas where I live we haven't had a proper fall of snow for several years.

There is a lot of snow across large parts of Europe at the moment, but I haven't seen anything here in The Netherlands so far. A nice and vertical view of the snowy garden and house. Well done.

Yes we had that heavy snowfall as well. I took some photos but didn't have a chance to check them yet.
I regret I didn't go to the coast because the wind was quite terrible and maybe there were interesting photo opportunities...
