Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
I have been comparing weather conditions with Luciano, who hasn't seen rain for over two months, whereas I have seen very heavy rain, especially over the last few days. Our garden is saturated!
I had planned an outing today but on hearing rain pelting against our windows, I abandoned the idea!
It reminded me of a holiday we had spent in Lincolnshire when the weather affected our plans. We saw an advert for a dancing festival to take place at Sutton-on-Sea and arranged to visit.
When we reached the town, the weather had deteriorated, dark clouds gathered in the sky and only the bravest people were out and about.
We seriously wondered whether to abandon the outing and go back to our camp site but ... being keen photographers we persevered!! We did see a few line dancers who stoically performed their routine despite poor weather and poor crowds!
Anyway, here is Sutton-on-Sea without the sunshine!!
Sutton-on-Sea is a village in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, beside a long sandy beach along the North Sea. The southern part of the village is known as Sandilands.
You may be interested to know that at very low tides it is possible to view the remains of an ancient mixed forest on the beaches of Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea. It was submerged by rising sea levels about 3000 years ago. It was first reported by Portuguese botanist José Francisco Correia da Serra, who surveyed it in 1796, when he visited the area in the company of the distinguished naturalist Sir Joseph Banks.
Have a good Sunday, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
The mainly dark tones of these huts make them match the grey clouds and brown sand perfectly. But, along with the railing, they are even better suited to give this photo perfect depth. Interventions by the weather can create unexpected but good photo opportunities.
Kind regards,
Gert

A very long row of wooden cabins, just waiting for next summer, I guess, Beverley.
With the heavy clouds far on the horizon, still had enough light to bring out colors of the huts, almost each had differently painted.
Fine outcome after all.
Good afternoon,

Hi Bev,
The row of cabins is giving dynamism to the scene. The point of view is showing the detials of the beach and of the cabins. The cloudy sky is giving a good contrast to the colors of the picture. Have anice day.

Hi Bev,
Yes the west coast is infamous for the bad weather. We have much drier climate on the easter side. We had a a bit of rain on Friday after a month without rain. However the weekends are always cloudy cold and windy. This weekend again quite bad. I was supposed to leave now to meet a friend for blue hour in York, but we cancelled because the weather is crazy.
Quite an interesting design of the beach huts.
I must vist this lovely town someday, preferably on a better weather day :)

Lep pogled i trenutak, interesantan i dobar tekst ...
Lepe kucice na obali, dobro poakzane sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblacima koji dolaze i najavljuju promenu vremena.
Dobar rad sa fotografijom u radionici.
Lepo secanje.
Zelim vam lepo popodne za odmor, sve najbolje.

Hello Beverley,
And that same area of rain crossed the North Sea and brought lots of rain here as well today. A great photo of this long line of low, wooden houses along the beach. I like the clouds in the background here too and at least it was raining then.

Hello Bev,
Today, we had the same weather or you yesterday, rain to 40mm, but I've cycled, and completely wet, cycling is my hobby, sometimes a little bit crazy .
We would all must know that beach cabines are a risk, close on the beach, also it same, to the Belgian coast.
Pleasant colours too.
An excellent composition, nice presentation too.
Very well done, TFS.
My warmest regards,
John

Hi Bev,the rain of these days has refreshed this memory in your mind, an unlucky trip but which also made people flee, leaving two magical views, a beautiful perspective on the cabins and a magnificent view of the deserted beach. In fact you were right about my photo, it is a Muscovy duck. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Beverley,
My attention was drawn to the fact that sometimes you can see remains of an ancient mixed forest on the beach. Did you ever see it?
That must be a very special, actually unearthly sight.
Sutton-on-Sea-without-Sun looks like a place where life has suddenly died out. Not like Herculaneum because the curtains on the right are still intact and nothing has to be excavated.
The photo is well taken. I often have problems with that kind of sky but you don't.
Today it rained most of the day in Belgium but tomorrow should be nicer.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Beverley
A wonderfully moody photograph. The railing takes the eye along the deserted beach huts to infinity and invokes a sense of desolation and loneliness. I like the overall effect, great visual...

Hi Bev
It looks like the sand is trying to take over. A good series under cloudy skies.

Hello Bev, It is just the problem - in one place there is a flood, in another the draught at the same time. Why can't be that they receive just what they need. It is a wonderful long promenade, great for the walk. I am used to it that the weather can be good or bad when I am travelling. Of course, it is better to have a blue sky but I do not care so much. I take it as it is.

Hi Beverley!
I must admit that this view of houses (?) or huts (?) by the seaside in a closed row is completely unfamiliar to me. This can't be observed in Scandinavia, Germany, Netherlands and definitely not in the Mediterranean.
There is no hint which purpose these buildings might serve. Regular and permanent homes? Weekend accomodations? Summertime hideaways?
Regards from Rhineland, with 8 hours of permanent rain yesterday

an interesting note, I didn't know about the submerged ancient forest. The dark threatening sky makes a good backdrop for the colourful beach huts. I wonder if they are sold for such crazy prices as in Kent.

Hi Bev.
A surprising image, when I saw it before opening it I thought they were houses in a town, I open it and oh... they are beach huts, something that always surprises me because I have never seen a beach with these characteristics, in Spain it does not exist None of this, I saw the closest thing in the North where they had a kind of small canvas booths.
The sky is really threatening, but it's a nice view along with the WS.
I ratify what Luciano says, here we haven't seen rain for almost two months, night frosts many days and sun during the day and rain is already an emergency that we need, a little fed up with the sun.
Magnificent composition and color, as well as an excellent
brightness and sharpness.
Good job. I love the photo.
Have a great day. Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello beverly,
I like the perspective generated by the long line of huts. It looks pretty even without the sunshine.

PS. Thanks for your praise of my stitching skill, but I don't deserve it - it's all Photoshop.
