this wide section is a mooring and turning area...i called it the lagoon because i dont know the correct boating term..

Doesn't matter what it's called, Geoff, it's still a nice photo. Simple but nicely constructed. You positioned yourself really well, and I like the mooring post and the flowers on the shrub in the bottom left. The houses all the same and the road in front define a perspective line and point to the old church very well, and I always like the sight of a very gentle breeze ruffling the water. Looks like a lock where the water narrows.
