Photographer's Note
the distinctive land-mass on the horizon is the mournes. the mountain range is silhouetted against a reddened sky just after sunset. this was taken from the beach at tyrella, in county down, northern ireland.
the mourne mountains include the highest mountains in northern ireland. the prominent pyramidal peaks form a stunning backdrop to views throughout this region of northern ireland, comprising an area of distinct steep rocky summits, rising to 850m at slieve donard.

Ciao Brian
Ciao e buona serata
Romano

Hello Brian,
There is an ethereal quality, indeed surrealistic, evocative of a Salvador Dali painting. Just four months ago I was in Northern Ireland and saw many wondrous scenes, but nothing quite as ethereal. Warm regards,

Hi Brian!
Very beautiful work!
Showing your technical skills, the use of tripod becomes here very imposrtant, as your election for 0.6 ND Grad, and long exposure...Great capture!!
My compliments...

Hi Brian,
Great to see you post and what a post! A stunning scene across the sea which looks like a magical island, a place of legends and fables waiting to be discovered. The colors of the sky add to this air of magic and make this a spectacular shot. Combined with the light reflecting off the water and the 3D effect of the rocks on foreground which look like they are floating, this is just beautiful. Really nicely done, you show me Ireland in ways I see in no other place.
Cheers

Hello Brian,
Lovely to see you posting again and what a shot for an introduction to 2015!
The slow shutter speed has captured all the possible light and made the water's surface seem like ice.
You have such a good eye for composition, creating excellent depth and getting the very best use out of the available features.
Have a great day,
Bev :-)

Hello Brian
Your work is always worth waiting for! Lovely (apparently natural) colours, perfect exposure, pin-sharp focus where it counts (and that's front-to-back, courtesy of f/16). But the technical stuff almost goes without saying. It's the wonderful composition, and your patience to wait for the right climatic conditions that really deserve praise. You've got it!

Hi Brian,
wow this is a very impressive work. I know the spot of course and have some pictures from similar POV and I remember your previous photos showing Mourne Mountains across the bay. This is a jaw-dropping view.
I like the clouds which make a lovely pattern and are nicely lit by the red light of the sun. The foreground is so well thought through and so natural with the rocks making great natural contrasts and with the reflection in the wet beach.
Beautiful place and excellent work!

Dear Brian
This is such a superb image. So beautiful and so evocative. You really have perfected your seascapes, they're absolutely stunning and sincerely are flawless. I love the definition of the FG rocks. I feel like I can almost reach out and touch them they are so sharp. The graduated pastel tones are a delight, enhanced by the reflection of the clouds in the water and the rocks you can see at the bottom of the ocean. There is such a wonderful feeling of tranquillity here. Photographing this extraordinary place, in addition to being such a photographic gem, must be so therapeutic for you.
Thanks, my blood pressure has lowered just looking at this.
Cheers

Hello Brian,
an awesome photo which seems to have considerable depth and underlying textures and colours that make what we immediately see even richer and also mystical. The interaction of light and shadow, warm and cold tones is so fascinating, you achieved great balance between them, an almost yin yang effect. The placement of the concrete elements and all the proportions within the frame are superb. Magical work, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,
Ourania
