Hi David,
Wow, what a shot! The light hitting the pier and those building is awesome. I like the dark overcast that gives the images that stormy feeling. Great composition, beautiful details and great colours! Beautiful work!

Hi,
What a shot that is....well worth sheltering under the pier and a view to die for taking picture. Were you expected this, David?
The light is excellent...great POV.
Funny is....why the sea looked so calm even there was a storm?
Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Regards.
Daniel.

What luck that your patience paid off big time. This is a fantastic dramatic shot. For the small chink of sun to illuminate the pier and none of the sand is astonishing. Well done.

How lucky you were to catch this shot with such fantastic light, the way you have captured the scene with just the tops of the buildings bathed in sunlight is just awesome. A wonderful POV with a great DOF and pin-sharp focus. I see you've shot this one in RAW. I found that you have much more control of the end product than you have using JPG, and you'll probably find, like myself, that you'll soon be using RAW permanently. A wonderful shot David, well done.

Dramatic and surrealistic David!
You made a photo with the sort of light that Rembrandt used in his famous paintings.
It's not only the light on the two towers of the building and on the pier, bust also the sky behind the pier, that makes this phot so beautiful!

Hi David, the dramatic light and dark sky makes this shot! This beautiful and very well rendered pier is so nicely lit that it looks like a gigantic studio stage set. Wonderful work.
Cheers,
Bert

Hi David,
It seems that you are either arising in the cold gray of dawn or fleeing from sleet storms at night! All in the worthy interests of photography of course...The incredible lighting here mesmerizes. Normally I would suggest cropping the foreground, and perhaps a little crop would be in order; but that is minor and the expanse of beach helps give balance and proportion to the highlights in the frame. Your exposure level was expertly chosen. A very fine capture, David. My experiments with RAW mode thus far are not as successful...

That's a really menacing looking sky - and great the shaft of watery sunlight hitting and highlighting the pier. nicely composed with the very horizontal line of the pier and the diagonal of the shingly beach, which matches the moody tones of the threatening clouds. Does it rain in Wales then? :¬)

Hi David,
What an amazing shot!! Nice catch of this wonderful and extraordinary moment. The overpowering darkness helped to amplify the lighted area making it visually very attractive and creating a strong impact. Congratulations!! Have a pleasant weekend.
