Photographer's Note
Not the bay in New Zealand but rather Southerndown in Wales. For me this place really offers everything for the landscape photographer. A tremendous location that should be up there on the list for anybody visiting that area.

Hi Adam,
Unbeliable shot from the round pebbles in the foreground to the sunset sky. Everything is in place. I like you went for the portrait format.
Thanks for sharing.

More than nice, the contrast between grey stones and sky is very effective. The result is an atmosphere almost mysterious and a bit sad.

Hi Adam,
Amazing shot again! I love how you have included the foreground rocks that lead the viewer right into the photo. The idea of having less sky and more foreground gives this image such a great perspective. The colours of the sky are stunning and the overall image has a great appeal. Great work, well done!

Hello,
Very nice landscape. DOF & sharpness are great. Sun colours are great too.
I like very much this sort of flat stones making something like a road on the left side and the contrast with round stones and then agin more on right new flat stones line.
Best regards

Hi, Adam. You've chosen a very good aperture which allows us to see everything clearly. The curved line of flat stones originating in the left angle leads us to the distant sky. I like the dichotomy in your picture: flat stones and pebbles, grey and orange sky.

A very impressive and successfull picture, with a very good composition. The neatness is perfect, the color of the sky rich and warm but the stones and peebles are the summit ot it.
Very well done,
Emmanuel

Great shot Adam! I like the wide angle on the vertical format, giving a nice close-up of the foreground rocks. The curving line of the rocks leads the viewer's eye right around the frame and out to the sunset. Excellent work!

Hello Adam,
the colours on this photo are perfect, the details too. The colours of the sunset are amazing, and the details on the rocks so fine.
Well done.

New Zealand was the first thing I thought when I saw the image name, was a bit puzzled with the amount of rocks for a split second.
Love the use of the wide angle here, love the detail shown in the pebbles and rocks and that brilliant sunset.

J'aime beaucoup ces rendus au grand angle. Très belles couleurs du ciel bien sûr mais aussi des galets je trouve.
Un grand bravo!
Erwan.

Hello Adam,
You have great control of depth of field in your images and this one is no different. The rocks leading the viewer into the total scene is fantastic. The angle of the bank is well placed and demnds one's attention to its place in the scene. The colors of the day, well what more can one say...

Hola Adam. Una composición realmente bonita. Me gusta mucho como la dirección de las piedras dirigen la mirada hacia el horizonte. La luz es muy espectacular y produce unos colores muy suaves y agradables. Buen trabajo.

Hi Adam
The exposure and lighting is well balanced here and the detail you have rendered is excellent. The low, and warm light has enabled you to reveal more detail than harsher lighting conditions would allow. The pools of water are a good feature, as is the warm glowing sky. The curvature in the rock formation is a good compositional feature and the crispness of the image emphasizes this well. The portrait format has served you well here, as it exaggerates the perspective and creates greater depth. Overall, good work.

For the critique...It's a 10. It's so clear and the balance of the light is perfect.
For the comment...What's your secret. How can you have the rocks and pebbles so clear and don't over-expose the sky?
It's a masterpiece!

The exposure is great!
Did you used a ND filter? Or blended two images?
Great job!

I like the use of the rocks to create a leading line around to the setting sun, the horizon is a little warped but can be fixed. The detail in the foreground is crisp. A very nice place to be and a stunning photo to be proud of.
