Photographer's Note

Maybe the most amazing day in my trip, fulfilling my long dreams - boat trip to Treshnish Islands. I could be no more lucky - I saw wonderful Staffa Island in full sun, with blue sky. I was thinking about going to Ireland to see Giant Causeway and maybe puffins. I later changed my plans to meet Trekkers in Lake District and to see more of Scotland. And I found it near Oban. There were hundreds of puffins on Lunga Island so close and the basalt pillars on Staffa. So many famous people admired this small island. Among them was Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. he was so impressed by the strange view and sounds that soon after his visit he wrote famous Overture Hebrides.
Maybe I post some more views of Staffa. I couldn't decide which one I liked most. Enjoy!

Hello Malgo,
A unique earth phenomena on this island, well captured from the boat.
We have a similar pattern of rocks in the desert here, and some canyon with it in the north - hard to give a reasonable explanation how that had formed.

nie jestem pewien dlaczego to jest w kategorii event.
Moze dlatego ze niebieskie niebo w Szkocji to prawdziwe wydarzenie :)
Bardzo sie ciesze ze to pokazujesz. Ja moze sie w koncu wybiore na polnoc. Tzn bylem tam juz i to chyba niejeden raz ale chcialbym to miejsce tzn Giants Causeway odwiedzic znowu no i zobaczyc Puffiny.
To co pokazujesz jest w rzeczy samej dopelnieniem, drugim koncem Giants Causeway i dlatego super ciekawe dla mnie.

Hi Malgo,

This is a very impressive landscape/seascape. I presume that this was taken from a boat - were you able to land on Staffa and walk around there? I'd love to go to see Fingal's Cave to see and hear what inspired Felix Mendelssohn to write his beautiful music.

This must have been a difficult shot to take from a moving boat - you have done well to capture it so well. Another fine shot to help add to your memories of Bonnie Scotland!

Witaj Molgosiu,
jest to rzeczywiscie przepiekne i unikalne miejsce. Nawet ostatnio ogladalam to Travel Channel. Jest to miejsce imponujace i kuszace zeby to zobaczyc. Bardzo mi sie to podoba oraz zdjecie. Sliczna robota. Serdecznie pozdrawiam,

You have posted some lovely pictures from Scotland, this is one such.
I have never been to Fingals Cave, or seen this section of basalt, the other end of which is the Giants Causeway in Ireland.
Lovely image, and lovely note, not least as it brought you to the Lakes to meet us !
