Photographer's Note
this picture was taken on the beach at minerstown, in county down, northern ireland. on the horizon is the outline of the mourne mountains.
the beach is nearly always deserted. i was fortunate that a break in the clouds allowed the setting sun to illuminate the landscape for a few moments.

Hi Brian,
Wow, great sunset scene. The texture of sand and water in the foregrouund and the clouds in the sky have an important play in the beauty of the picture. Excellent sharpness and light management.

Ciao Brian
che profondità incredibile, molto bella quella striscia rossa all'orizzonte, ma ancor più belli sono i riflessi che dall'orizzonte, rimbalzano fino ai nostri occhi.

hi brian. indeed, you are lacking on TE.
yet, this is a superb cool strike back photo. i feel like rushing to the horizon, where the sun becomes a yellow eye with red eylashes. those soft ripples on sand add to the unearthiness of the place. please keep on your TE-xistnance.

Hi Brian,
You know the opening sequence of Mission Impossible with a burning fuse?... This is what your image evokes, with the spark leaving a red trail as it moves toward the right side.
I like the mood of this shot, the metallic blue, the mirror effect, and that glowing touch that breaks the monochrome dominance.
Well done!

Hi Brian
Lucky you were to have this orange line at the sky line to contrast widely with the blue hues of the deserted beach. I like the orange reflections onthe ripple marks.
Warmest regards

Hello Brian,
Perfect composition and exposure, it is well balanced at the end and even if there is few elements in the frame, the shot is not empty, sharing details in each areas, more sharing a feeling of wide landscape.

Hello, lovely evening sunset image with a slight golden light illuminating the ripples on the sand. Such a beautiful touch captured at the right moment. Perfect color and composition. A beach that hardly anyone goes to is a treat for those of us who love to walk in solitude and think and contemplate.

Hi Brian,
This is really beautiful. the glint of sun reminds me of a masonic eye, I think because the rays look so much like lashes. Its creating a very fine scene, and the way the sun has thrown light and color into the delicate shapes of the sand in the foreground is wonderful.
This really looks like a beautiful place, and so much more appealing that its deserted.
Thanks as always

Ciao Brian
il soggetto è diverso dai soliti anche se non manca la solita presaenza del mare.
Straordinaria nitidezza e luce magica si uniscono ad una delle tue solite composizioni che lasciano a bocca aperta.
Complimenti per l'ennesima volta.

Hello Brian,
This is indeed a stunningly beautiful photograph but I am sure that you didn't simply come across this by accident: knowing you, I suspect that you not only planned your trip but you probably also had to wait some considerable time before the light and other conditions were truly favourable.
Your composition is superb and also very pleasing. The light in the sky and on the beach is divine and I love how the golden rays from the setting sun pick out the tops of those little wavy ripples in the wet sand.
Gorgeous light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. I was intrigued by your mention of a 0.6ND "Reverse" graduated filter - does that mean that you used your graduated filter to lighten the sky and darken the foreground? - i.e. rotated it 180° from the way you would normally employ it?

Hi Brian.
This spectacular composition and beautiful, I love how the waves curl to get to the beach in the foreground, a dramatic sky adds great beauty, the sun shining on the horizon, with red stele, like a comet, wonderful image.
A lovely colorful in very natural shades.
The lighting is very well run, good sharpness brings out the details and textures.
Well done. I love it.
Have a nice day.
All the best.
Luis.

Wow, Brian,
This is fantastic, that slit of sun coming through is awesome. Splendid Pov, skimming over the beach and sea to the icing on the cake the moody sky with the slit of sun poking through.
Well done, love it.

Hi Brian,
You have captured brilliant sunset atmosphere here. Excellent light and superb sunlight reflections. I like to see here also the part of sandy beach flooded partly wit sea water, and the patterns created by water movement..
Well done.
Wish you a very nice weekend.

Hi Brian,
what a shame you do not post more often - your photos are just outstanding and it is a pleasure to see them every time.
The light in here takes only little part of the picture but somehow it has the main role. The orange and gold colors of the sun contrast in amazing way with the rest of the photo which has been kept in blue shades. The tiny reflection on the water adds to the whole image and the structure of the sand and water provides eye catching foreground.
Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day

Hello Brian,
I particularly like the patterns on the beach created by the tide and high lighted by the rising sun, that little starburst and glimpse of light being so important in making this such a fine photograph.
Very well handled all round.

Hello Brian
Great colours and great clarity in a shot that could be technically so difficult with that sun. From afar the orange streak looks like a comet streaking across the sky. I love how you have managed to get the FG detail of the light on the watery sand too. Well done.

Gidday Brian
So good to see you back here. I know life can be busy and takes over automatically, so I'm glad you keep coming back. All I can do here is join the standing ovation you received for this. It's merited in every respect I can think of. The textures in the sand, the golden highlights in the FG, the metallic blue tones and stunningly exposed sun all combine to make this the masterpiece it is. Congratulations and what a wonderful experience of tranquillity you must have experienced in seeing this face to face.
Cheers

Hi Brian,
spectacular photo. Everything is perfect here. I like the foreground: low tide beach with nice patterns on the sand. It looks so pretty and it provides the chance for reflection as well. Sky was fantastic too which contributes to the stunning effect. Interesting contrast of the cold world and the hot sun.
Excellent work!!

Hello Brian,
A sublime and sophisticated photo of the last light touching the horizon. My eyes are drawn to the golden light touching the ripples on the beach just adding that little bit extra to an already beautiful satin finish the sands. The simple elements have come together perfectly through your expert eye.
Love it!
Kind Regards, Ann
