Photographer's Note
Bev asked if I will also show a pic of the Skipton Castle. There you are: this is the entrance to the Skipton Castle grounds. The very first question which may come to your mind may be what does it mean “Desormais”? It seems to be French equivalent of “henceforth”, “from now on”.
This is my 200th photo from the United Kingdom. I remember times when I didn’t even have 100 photos in total… Now from one country already 200!

Hello Mariusz,
A beautiful photo of this large gate and its two large round towers. The blue sky and the bright sunlight are great too and I love the shadow of the tree at left a lot too. Very well done!

Hi Mariusz,i know well what means desormais and it's very difficult to understand why there is that on the top of the entrance,it's like "it's too late",very very curious. Interesting post for the architechtural style too,and the quality is always the best. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Mariusz
I like the entrance to this grand place. The shadow of the tree on the wall kind of freaked me out....very eerie to say the least. I know it is a day past Halloween. But what if it was haunted. I did a workshop to give the shadow it's due. Just a different look.

Bonjour Marius,
Ah! Skipton... We visited the castle with Len & Beverley and I still feel guilty because I wanted to offer them the entry tickets but our credit card was not accepted there! The ONLY time it happened for the two months in GB!!!
Nicely & tightly framed here.
Désormais, indeed a French word and as Malgo wrote, my first thought was the song by Charles Aznavour too !! :) “Désormais... On ne nous verra plus ensemble”
Amicalement,
Viviane

Hello Mariusz,
Strange to see a French word above the entrance to an English castle, but it would seem that Skipton Castle Castle was originally established by the Normans. I like this direct-on point of view; the stone walls are nicely set off by the lovely sky. We also have the benefit of the framing tree on the one side and the shadow play on the other. Excellent technical realisation.

Hello Mariusz,
My first question was "Why 'from now on' in French" ?
I like how the shadow of the big tree covers the left tower almost completely.
The contrast between the sunlit places and those in the shade is enormous.
Best regards, Paul

Congratulations on your 200 from the UK, Mariusz. This is a place I've not yet visited there. In your picture I love the shadow of the tree on the left tower most. I also like the two people in the gateway. I don't like the parked care (with the owner behind it?) that much.
Cheers
Benny

Hello Mariusz,
“Desormais” does seem like a strange motto, I remember puzzling over it myself! Maybe slight differences in meaning occurred over the years! Who knows!
It is a very well preserved castle and this gateway lays testament to its excellent condition!
You have captured some very fine details of the twin towers and intervening archway, with great clarity. The photograph seems just a little underexposed which works well, for me, for it gives the colours a definite richness.
Just look at that tree shadow!
It definitely looks like one for Hallowe'en!
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

An imposing sight of the entranc4e gate to the fort, Mariusz.

Hi Marisuz
I really like the WS photo actually, it turned out pretty cool, like a halloween photo :) And good for you to have 200 from the UK, its building. This really does have that medieval look and feel to it. Or Gothic look perhaps, maybe both, whatever it is its spooky and great for photographers. wonderful lighting, sweet contrasts of warm and light tones. cheers

Hello Mariusz.
Fantastic this great gateway to the castle, of course it is majestic with the two robust circular towers and the central body with the door. I love the effect of the shadow in the tower on the left gives a nice graphics.
This very well, the number of photos that you already quantify of the UK, I from some of the countries that I visit got to do 3000, and then leave it in the middle ... a bit excessive, but it helps me remember my trip very well .
Sensational colorful that embellishes the image.
Magnificent management of brightness and sharpness, to enjoy with the details.
Well seen and done. I like it.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.
