Photographer's Note
fourth picture in this little series
---
ANOTHER PLACE is a piece of modern sculpture by Sir Antony Gormley located at Crosby Beach in Merseyside. The work consists of cast iron figures which face out to sea, spread over a 2-mile (3.2 km) stretch of beach between Waterloo and Blundellsands. Each figure is a cast replicas of Gormley's own body. As the tides ebb and flow, the figures are revealed and submerged by the sea.
Originally it was planned as a temporary exhibit, but the artist found the location perfect and in March 2007, permission was granted for Another Place to remain at Crosby Beach permanently and I've been wanting to visit it ever since. I finally made it now.

THIS PICTURE is the fourth in my little series. You see yet another one of these statues on the beach. The tide goes out. Picture shot against strong and low winter light for maximum effect.

Hi, Benny!
Well done! Good idea to make this series of the sculpture copies. But I think about the vandals... I do remember the Mermaid sculpture in Copenhagen. First of all I like the colors and the exposition, good framed photo. TFS!
Best wishes!

Hi Benny
This is a really well photographed series. I really like this strong silhouette on the background of reflective surfaces: wet sand and water. The statue well placed off centre which leaves some space for it to look into.
Best wishes

Hi Benny
the more you post these shots, the more amusing and funny the get. Seeing him just standing there makes me think of a man who was left standing at the alter from her bride hahaha.
the way the light is reflecting onto the sand patches is wild, and really gives a cool looking visual. Its as if he's afraid to move, out of fear. awesome
cheers

Hello benny
Such a stoic pose. How many of these statues are there? Are they all cast from the same mold? I like the late afternoon or early morning. I would guess last afternoon if he is facing the Atlantic. Nice color saturation with the long shadow.

Dag Benny,
De zilver sterren op het strand rond het standbeeld geven extra kleur aan uw foto.
Door de verschillende ondergelopen plaatsen krijgen we een zacht maar aangenaam foto te zien.
Goed foto werk, bedankt
Groeten uit Oost-Vlaanderen,
John.

Bonjour Benny,
The whole série is very interesting but this one is really amazing! The backlight, the glittering water, the colours... And the whole composition is very nicely framed too.
Great image, thank you for it...

Hallo Benny,

Hi Benny
Good back-lighting with a wonderful silhouette of the statue and nice blue skylight reflections in the myriad of temporary channels at low tide. Impeccable sharpness and nice punchy light contrasts. Tfs!

Hi Benny,
This is a very interesting and original display of statues and this picture is particularly outstanding, with the black silhouette standing against the glittering foreshore.
I love the patterns of the silvery sand emerging from the water.
Congratulations.
Martie-Louise.
