Autumnal Contrasts, a photo from Lancashire, England

Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

Last year, the winds came and removed all the leaves before the autumn colours could become established. But, not this year!

My photograph was taken from the tram tracks, looking over a garden, across the fields to a farmhouse. (It is better viewed in a New Tab.)

I hoped to contrast the evergreen bushes in the garden with the developing rich colours of the deciduous trees.

For colours, autumn offers so much variety!

(I cloned out a telegraph post which interfered with the beauty of the scene.)

Hello Bev,
The rather tightly cropped vertical shape makes us focus not only on the autumn coloured trees in the middle, but also on the evergreen bushes in the foreground and the distant farm houses. Nothing diverts our attention. Regardless what the temperature may have been, the weather was perfect for a photo safari. The light and colours are brilliant.

Beautiful warm sunshine! The colors are so pleasant.
Fantastic point of view with so much going on. I like very good level of contrast which makes the view so realistic. In particular the clouds are so dark but arrow which makes them a nice decoration in the otherwise spotless sky.

Hi Bev,

The distance between the lampost and the farmhouse is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the trees with the fall colors. The light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice dya.

Hello Beverley,
From the higher place where a tram once ran, you have a good overview of the terrain and you present us a photo with a good composition in different horizontal layers.
Autumn is a beautiful season when the weather is sunny, but so often autumn days are dark and wet with us.
When the sun shines, you should therefore take advantage of it.
Whoever lives here clearly has a lot of space around the house.

A good choice for this vertical composition. Such a lovely day with fine sunlight and very appealing autumn colours in the trees. The houses are also very nicely placed in the middle at the end of the wide path between the trees.

we can see as the clouds are dark and cold. nice details of the golden leaves . I liked as the lamp post has a visual dialogue with the houses ahead.
yesterday we have another big storm here, so many wind and almost nothing of rain.

Wonderful this long vertical composition, which allows us to see a wide panorama from the foreground with the grass, passing through the colorful trees with their autumn outfit, up to the top of the hill with the houses, beautiful that blue sky with light gray clouds .
