Leaves in a Fashion Show., a photo from Lancashire, England

Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

I just had to capture and share the autumnal colours on these leaves before they all fell into the river! The leaves looked to be competing for best colours, as if in a fashion show!

Today, the weather was bright and sunny, perfect for photography, after a previous day which delivered almost continuous torrential rain.

These trees overhang the small stream which wanders through our village. I included some small details of the stone wall which edges the stream, just for a sense of depth.

Hi Bev,the moment of "foliage" is always attractive and every year we see many photos, but this year I see many original and different solutions, especially with regard to perspectives, and yours is also truly magnificent. Hello Bev,
This is the kind of view which should be a great challenge, and delight, for a clever (or at least ambitious) painter. There are so many tones of yellow, orange, brown and green, and so many small details. For a photographer it's just a quick click (provided the photographer manages to see the potential of such an ordinary view). I love the simplicity of this stunning beauty.

Take a peek over the wall to find the beautifully sunlit leaves in their nicest autumn dress.
The pieces of blue sky make a good colour contrast.

A great close-up of those mostly bright yellow autumn colours with some hints of green and brown as well. They look great against the blue sky as well and you captured them from a good angle.

The picture has magnificent autumnal colors, multi tones and hue's in beautiful nature appearence. A fine use of the light upon the leaves, just adjacent to the trail, I reckon.

Hi Bev,
I love autumn colour maple leaves. Here we see mainly yellow and brown tones, but also reds, oranges and greens are often present. Sunny weather is perfect and I can imagine how this scene is animated by wind.
Sadly this season was quite short in Finland this year as rain and heavy wind cleared trees in a couple of weeks.

here in my backyard I have my persimmon tree that brings some colors to my autumn season,anyway our native trees only swap their leaves at the end of winter, waiting the first rains of spring, and they have not so much color as yours during this phase.
a marvelous golden mosaic here, so well registered by you.
