Photographer's Note
In my recent uploads I already alternated between photos from the sunny and dry Cape Verde and the cloudy and cold Gdansk. Yesterday, on a local trip, I made this photo which exhibits yet a very different colour theme again, so I thought I will share it for a change.
It will not be surprising if I say that the weather in North East England was recently very changeable. There were few amazing great light weather days, but they happened during the working week so seeing them from my window I could only dream what great photos I could take on those days. The weekends had most of the time a bad weather. So I didn’t have too many opportunities for the local trips this year. Of course, the prices of fuel make the local trips more expensive than some flights.
Yesterday the weather forecast was not very clear but with a hope of some sunshine. We decided to take a risk and drive 1.5 hours to one of the most interesting destinations in the North East: Alnwick. We have been there before, I shared here already some pics from the beautiful Alnwick Castle. We have visited there also quite unique Alnwick Garden, but I didn’t show photos of it before. On the way there the weather was quite terrible and to be honest all the time I thought: should I turn around or not? When we arrived, there were some rare sunny spells, so we decided to stay around. It was hard to take photos when the sun appeared rarely and usually not in the most photogenic spot. At the very end of the day, completely contrary to the weather forecast, the skies cleared and the colours of everything became so very vibrant. I have used here the polarizing filter, so it certainly enhanced the photo. I thought I should decrease the saturation because it is so wild but then again I thought that it is how it was recorded by the camera, and this is how I felt about the place so I decided to keep it. We didn’t have any more strength to walk around all the garden again taking new set of photos in the new amazing light anymore…
This is a fragment of a large and impressive cascade fountain, which is probably the main feature of the Alnwick Garden. Another interesting parts of the garden are the Poison Garden or the Cherry Orchard.

Lucky with the weather, Mariusz, enabled a nice garden picture on a bright sunny day.
You show only a part of the large cascade, but saw on Google Map virtual tour a wonderful park around with a Toxic plants Poison Garden, which I wonder what shown there.
Have a nice sunday,
Ike

Hi Mariusz
Well composed with the wall starting in the corner and acting as a leading line up the cascade in great English "light".
cheers

Hello Mariusz,
A great and sunny view of the gardens and the wide fountain and waterfalls in the foreground. The sunlight was just perfect and highlighted the green trees and hedges so well against the blue sky.

Hi Mariusz
For a moment I thought you'd been to the travertine terraces of Pammukkale in Turkey! A wonderful fountain with good sharpness and an interesting topiary hedge at left. Tfs!

mariusz
you used well the lines and curves of the modern fountain here. I liked the use of the real green wall with doors. the sky was very beautiful and you were lucky with the light. a surprising place.
take care

Ciao Mariusz,if always very conditioned by the weather forecast, but in England this often changes quickly and therefore you were right to continue. Really excellent photo as always, a perfect perspective to offer us the best of these very original fountains! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano
