Photographer's Note

Saltburn Pier again! The main road goes along by the beach (A174) and I was on my way home on Wednesday evening. The sun was just beginning to set and I thought maybe I would capture some good shots from the beach. Saltburn is possibly unique in that in the weeks around the summer solstice the sun both rises and sets over the sea. I parked the car, went on the beach and began shooting. I was getting impatient because I thought some human interest would improve the shots, when these people unknowingly obliged. (usually you want people to get out of the way!)
I'm still not sure about technicalities, so I was experimenting; I set DOF to F9. This still gave me a fast enough shutter speed not to need a tripod. The shutter speed possibly explains why it looks darker than it actually was; timed at 21.25 and still not dark enough to need car headlights.
PP:- Cropped out some dark foreground, very minimal tweaking on curves, small increase in saturation and USM
