Photographer's Note
This little fellow could well end up as a 'Cromer Crab', a local delicacy for which Sheringham and neighbouring Cromer are famous for.
Luckily for the crab it was boxing day, hardly surprising then that there were no crab fishermen looking for him that day!
I did actually place the crab on the rock in order to make the composition more exciting, and just to prove to myself that I could still pick up a crab without being pinched!

Lucky Crab! Like the added texture the sand gives this fellow. Some of the original clarity may have been lost in the scan.

Very nice macro, Ben. Athough a little staged, the result is good. I like the colours and composition. How did it taste?

Good idea to have the crab on the rock, but try a tripod next time to get better focus. i'd even go a little lower on the angle, to make the crab seem bigger. If you could adjust the hue of the sand in the back, that would make him really pop out. Nice pic!
