Photographer's Note
Here we go - Im ready for the comments so dont be shy ;-)
This was looking in the opposite direction to my last post - looking directly into the mist. This is my favourite shot out of the two.

Hi Adam
I think I like this one better than the other as well. There is something magical about trees and mist. The detail and sharpness is well rendered and hte sapling adds a very nice contrast. As always, keep up the good work!

This is stunning, Adam... the misty conditions provide us with a magical scenery, and I love the choice of your title. Well composed and very well executed. Top quality!

Hello Adam,
Really impressive compressed view of the trees contrasting so well with the whiteness of the fog. I particularly like that the focus on the tree in the front. Great work! Regards,

This is great Adam
I like the way this small tree is dwarfed by the bigger ones, great title.
Also the misty moody colors are great.

Hello Adam,
Very good shot ! The vertical lines of the trees trunks make this place look like a prison for this "baby tree".

Hi Adam
I really love your crisp photos. I like the difference in the subject too (I treat your work as an example and was a little bored with the monotony).

Hi Adam,
beautiful picture. The contrast between the fog and the trees is great. It's just, it would be better, I think, if we saw the complete little tree.
Best regards

I have struggled mightily with forest shots, so I'm very interested and impressed in this photo. The fog or mist really gives this a wonderful sense of depth, allowing us to distinguish near from far trees. Brilliant idea to use that young tree in the foreground, which makes the shot work so well. Nicely done!

Hello Adam,
Excellent travail !

Capturing the beuaty of a forest in the mist is not as easy as it may be made out to be - the subleties of this and the creativity of your choice of composition excite all sorts of responses from me - really a very beautiful shot.

Hmm, wow, talk about not seeing the wood for all the trees :-) This one really works for me. While the previous shot was nice but "common", this one gives really a different perspective on things. I'm amazed how cutting off the ground works out here, adds an interesting touch of surealism. I also like how you've framed the small and the lager fir in a gap between all the tree trunks. And finally the dim, blueish light with a touch of mangenta on the bark (hope that's not my monitor) completes the fairy tale mood.

Hi adam,
Another awesome image, have never visited the new forest might have to pay a visit the next time I am up that end of the country.
Total lack of forest in Cornwall after all the trees were ripped down to use in the mines.

Adam,
I find shooting mist to be very difficult. You have captured an excellent photo here. Well done!

I like the soft blue atmosphere contrasted with the rich tones and texture of the bark. Certainly a comment on the struggle for light and survival. It is also a very strong graphic shot with the goodly number of vertical lines. I am making this one a favourite of mine. Well done Adam.

Hi Adam, the more I look at this shot the more I like it. Great mood capture with a magical dimension to it. This is very much the realm of the dedicated landscaper, touching on these silent moments. Very fitting title also, excellent work.

Hi Adam,
Well, try to do that in Photoshop:)
I`ve been doing that for a while but I think it`s impossible to imitate the depth of the real fog, so I guess it`s far better to be there and capture the moment.
I recently upgraded my equipment and I find it much more easy to work with but still, every picture will have to go through Photoshop for more or less retouches.
I think your photo is very special and I also think that all your photos are so beautiful because you know when to take the shots, you take full advantage of the “golden moments”.
I have a question: how much time did you spend post-processing this one and how much time does it usually take for an average photo?...these are two questions I suppose:)
Thanks ,
Nelu

Adam.,your gallery is highly impressive and very interesting, you have a sharp eye for the beauty of nature, this one is max result of the poor light and weather circumstances, the fog is a real bonus.

The colour of the trees as they fade into the mist is beautiful. The small tree in the foreground looks like a chopped off Christmas tree, though: I would like to have seen the base of the trunk just to see that it is rooted in the ground.

I am looking through your gallery and am spoilt for choice as to which ones are my favourites - you are so consistently good! This one I love - the fog and muted colours gives such mystery. I wondered at first whether the tree in the foreground was right for the picture or not but on balance I think it is right to be there.

Ann
