Photographer's Note

An autumnal shot taken in the New Forest in Hampshire. Living just minutes outside the forest it is my closest destination and one that I am very fond of. Yet I usually avoid photographing the woods because its very difficult to find a clean composition in such a busy place. However, at this time of year when the colours change I couldnt resist heading into the woods to try and capture some colour.

Great fall picture. Besides the obvious, wonderfully ligt foilage, I really love the strong tree trunks and how their structure comes out by the side light, like muscles. Personally I think the blueish and greenish (??) cast on the two trunks in the background is a bit distracting and I'd probably had selectively toned down saturation on these. But still a very nice shot.

Hello Adam,

We all hate to wave goodbye to summer (except this year!, but when there are scenes like this to enjoy, we should really relish autumn! A superb viewpoint, lovely dappled light and warm,'wrap-you-up' colours!

First of all, this has some really beautiful colour, with many subtle shades and hues. I also like your composition, with the four trees making a very good ensemble, none at the same distance or position, but all going well together. Well done!

Hi Adam,
the feeling is I can touch that trees and jump into your pic and run through the forest. The quality you delivered is outstanding with excellent details throughout. Also, the mix between the light and the warm colours is absolutely stunning!

Hi Adam ,firstly i must say that its a great autumn view and those trees are really well positioned to draw the eye nicely into the view.The colours and light are great ,have you used PM on this ? as it looks like a fine art work.Don't get me wrong its a great image .I'm just a bit unsure about it myself
