Photographer's Note

This ancient mesquite tree, situated appr. 2 km south of Jebel Dukhan, derives it's name from it's solitary existence in the midst of the arid desert.
The Tree, whose source of water remains a mystery, sheds it's leaves in the winter but grows it's flowers in the spring and summer. The incongruity of this landmark with it's surroundings raised the curiousity of visitors and specialists alike and makes it a "must to see" for tourists.
