Everything about this great black door is strange to me.Its shape ,that two smaller doors ,the Rose plant in the middle ...only I wish they hadn't put that big projector light on top of it !
this is the main enterance of " Kyrenia Castle " or "Girne Kalesi" ( in turkish )in North Cyprus that has been created and been around since the 10th century BC.An amazing architecture and mindblowing scenes of harbour and the sea.

Hi Neda. Impressive gate but i would guess that where the black door stands there was more of the wall and a smaller entrance with a thick solid wooden gate enforced with metal plates and studs.I think that because the right side has blocks of stones missing and the left as well. What is is not necessarily what once was, but as you say it is a strange combination now. Regards. Klaudio.
