During a one-day visit to the tomb of the famous Turkmen poet (Makhtumkuli Faraghi), I came across this newly built mosque. The facade of the mosque was not finished yet. I like the architectural style of mosques (Sunni) which is made of a single minaret.

(Aq Tagh) is a village in the central part of Kalaleh city in Golestan province of Iran. This village is located in the village (Zavkooh). The people of this village are Turkmen. Wikipedia

Hello Ali,
This is an interesting mosque but slightly curious. The proportions between the dome and the wall are a bit unusual, but they make it a very special mosque. I wonder if the minaret is actually leaning, or if it is a case of lens distortion. I appreciate that local people have built this with perhaps limited resources. I like the green roof and the beautiful inscriptions below it.

Hello Ali,
A wonderful photo of this mosque in this rather empty landscape. The minaret looks so small compared to the beautiful large dome. Its green colours stands out well from the cloudy sky.

Hello Ali,
Here the minaret is completely separate from the mosque.
A beautiful and striking green dome but isn't it a bit big for the building? It is the first time I see a dome that spans the entire surface of the mosque.
Built in a rather desolate landscape.

Hi Ali,
I like very much the very oval shape of the dome.
Also the green color makes it so eye catching.
Even the cloudy weather didn't affect the vibrant color of the dome.
Very nice spot, it seems to be standing in the middle of nowhere.

I really do enjoy going through your photos, we just don't get to see many Iran scenes. its a learning experience every time. I wish to one day travel to Iran and explore. striking little Mosque here, seemingly in the middle of no where. cheers

Missed this one. Good sharpness and a pleasant diffused light. Well framed and composed with adequate breathing space right around the mosque and minaret. The green cupola roof is eye-catching. Tfs!
