Salam Yass. A powerful portrait and a saddening one when one thinks of what this woman has seen and how much she has suffered for decades. One has only one life and it makes one despair that humans can bring so much misery and grief to each other. She reminds me of my grandmother who is long dead and who till her last breath had the name of her son on her lips- her youngest son who was executed in the war at sixteen years of age. Poor women-how we make them grieve,we the men with our killing machines. This shot generates many thoughts, most of them sad.if there is no Paradise, there should be for individuals such as this. Salam. Klaudio.

Hello Yass,
A great and powerful portrait. I love the rough grains in the shot, which create a certain 'flatness' and make the image really timeless, tranforming this woman into a universal mother figure. A moving portrait of sadness, but also of strength and hope. Nice work!

Asalam-o-Alaikum Yass,
A very compelling and powerful portrait, The crop is just perfect and the choice of giving a rough grain is very good. It gives a unique harshness to the scene.
inshAllah things will turn for the good,
Thanks for sharing

It feels wrong to mark this photo with a smiling face Yass, but that is only telling you how much I appreciate this portrait. The eyes are those of a mother, knowing and sad, yet stoic also. It is often the womenfolk who bear the brunt, often alone, of the tragedy of war. We bring children into the world, and are full of hope for them ....
I have to say that I prefer viewing this portrait without looking at the yellow writing, nevertheless it is still a strong photo.
Greetings, Amelia
