Photographer's Note
jerusalem..the wailing wall on a quiet day.
i was hoping to correct the parallax error up top but my software doesnt seem to support this..if any does..so i set the base on the square.
the esplanade here in front is enourmous and a feel of quietness and conteplation comes over you...the library nearby is worth a visit..just cover your head.
on a bar mitzvah day the whole area is packed with people and you get a different perspective then.
prayer letters are stuck between the cracks in the enourmous limestone blocks..there are thousands there.

Very simple and nice shot of the wall. It was really a quite day. I like the empty chairs.
I made a WS, trying to fix the parallax error.
Well done, Jeof.
Added to my theme "Jerusalem - Layers of history".

Interesting subject and very good framing. The chairs make this shot, I think. I also like the plants growing in the wall. Very well seen and captured.

I like the texture of the wall, the empty chairs and the birds. Shame about the perspective but it is a very minor thing, and the WS corrected it.
Good shot.

Great shot Geof. The clarity is good and you captured a very peaceful atmosphere in this shot. I quite like the fact that it isn't directly head on because it gives the picture another dimension. If I was being extremely picky, I would say to crop or clone out the half pigeon on the left :-)

The empty chairs are quite emotional. Like empty people struck by disaster and pain...

I like the composition here - a big wall and small people and chairs... just 3 people and a lot of empty chairs. it is a very good scene.

Great picture. This is an interseting shot because of the tight crop at the bottom. I like the textures, the almost monochromatic color, the people and the chairs at the bottom...just engaging in its simplicity.

First time I really see and take time to look at the nice pattern of these blocks of stone with plants growing in the cracks.
Very nice shot.

I really like how you composed this with the humans as a secondary object just there to show the size. And not only the size of the wall, the blocks of the wall are enormous too. The one he is kissing easily weighs a couple of tons and that is still one of the smaller.

It is the first time when I see very close blocks and when I may distinguish the letters of prayer. I like very much the composition, the image is net. Thank you very much for the division(sharing.

hello Geof,
this is one of the best pics I have seen of the Wall. Your POV makes it looks so impressive- and the people so small!
Good color and compo.

Wondering around your gallery I picked this one out as most of my likings and also cause it's a quite clear neat edition showing very well all the texturing on the wall without any sharpness artefcts. Most of all I like the suggested mood here, the empty chairs and the few people praying. You could have put them also more in the corner in the frame to leave still more contrasting space to this enormous wall, putting them already at the bottom you created this feeling already very well. Thanks for sharing and keep looking around, lot to see.

Excellent daily life picture. Good composition, showing the empty chairs and people praying, all looking so small in face of the huge wall.
