Photographer's Note
SEE WS TOO!
In addition to the morning camel, a classic of the desert program is the exit on the dunes with Jeeps to watch the sunset. The drivers have a lot of fun making daring maneuvers, and I admit that it is also fun, but for some less experienced drivers there is always some problem (see the WS) and the passengers have returned to the tented camp on foot.
The desert was formed during the Quaternary period as a result of the forces of south-west blowing monsoon and the northern shamal trade wind, coming in from the east.Based on the types of dunes found in the area, it is divided into the high, or upper, Wahiba and low Wahiba. The upper area contains mega-ridge sand systems on a north-south line that are believed to have been formed by monsoon. The dunes of the north, formed at some point after the last regional glaciation, measure up to 100 meters (330 ft) high, with peaks accumulating in the areas just beyond the strongest wind speeds, where declining velocity wind deposited sand. The north and west boundaries of the desert are delineated by the fluvial systems Wadi Batha and Wadi Andam.Beneath the surface sands are an older layer of cemented carbonate sand. Alluvium deposits believed to have originated from the Wadi Batha during the Paleolithic era have been disclosed in the central desert 200 meters (660 ft) beneath the interdune surface.Wind erosion is believed to have contributed to the existence of a nearly level plain in the southwest.
The area is occupied by Bedouins who congregate at Al-Huyawah, an oasis near the border of the desert, between June and September to gather dates. Tribes present in the area at the time of the Royal Geographical Society expedition included, predominately, Al Wahiba (or Yal Wahiba) for whom the region is named, Al-Amr, Al-Bu-Isa, Hikman, Hishm and Janaba.
AUTISTI PAZZI

Hello Luciano,
A great action shot of this white car racing through the desert, I guess it will be less white after the trip though. Excellent sharpness, which also reveals the patterns of the sand very well.

Salut Luciano,

Hi Luciano
The large vehicle is so white...i wonder how dirty it was when the ride was over haha. Its a cool shot because we can see the front wheel and all the dust and sand as well. its a great looking action shot, one that we don't see very often at all.
unique and fun, an excellent combo. well done. cheers

Hello Luciano!
This reminds me very much of an experience of my elder son who is a professional cameraman and has been in the United Arab Emirates. This state plans a railway connection from the Persian Gulf to its Indian Ocean coast to detour the Straits of Hormuz in case Iran should make trouble.
The shooting was for a railway construction company which was among the bidders for that project, and the daring drivers came out with a similar result...

Hello Luciano,
While the WS in a way is more interesting, not just by including people but mainly for showing what happens if the driver is not skilled enough, this is of course the more dramatic and exciting photo. It is probably great fun to be in that car as long as everything goes smoothly, and probably great fun to watch it too. You timed this photo perfectly and captured car and sand with equal sharpness.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Luciano,
There's always someone! The sand thrown up by the speeding vehicle creates a great sense of dynamism. Well exposed with very good colour contrasts and some nice repeating patterns to be seen in the sand.

Bonsoir Luciano,
Obviously, people in the Arabian Peninsula have a lot more money to splurge than places like Egypt and Morocco. A fantastic motion blurred picture of the sand being churned up with excellent sharpness an the static parts of the image. Tfs!

Ha! Ha! Caro Luciano, such daring movements on the sandy terrain!
The sand has taken on the appearance of waves, exploding over the wheels as the vehicle attempts swift changes of direction!
It's a great shot, inferring movement on a still shot.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hello Luciano
Two fascinating photos that show us how the modern world meets the age-old desert.
Not the quiet reliability of the camel, but a modern vehicle that is not equipped very well for this environment.
Nice work with the full moon as a bonus.
Have a nice day. Groet Rob

Hello, Luciano!

Hi luciano.
What happened to drive through the desert on the sand, like the car in the photo and see the wake of sand and dust that rises, as if it were a wave.
The management of color and light, are magnificent, highlighting the beauty and sharpness of the image.
Very well done. I like it
Enjoy a good day
Very best regards.

Luciano, the suv driver enjoys the thick sand to test its engine strenght and to make skids. The car is Nissan brand with tinted windows protecting the passengers against the hard desert sun. The sand moving creates a pleasant visual result.

Hello Luciano,
A bit of a wilder aspect of your journey.
The sand thrown up was beautifully photographed.
In the WS a very remarkable behaviour of the man in the lower left corner. It seems as if he thinks the end of the world is near.
