Photographer's Note
The desert certainly offers many opportunities for unique and original photos. I really have many, this was not in the best light, as the sun had just set, but I liked the composition to the limit of absolute minimalism and I hope you too.The desert was formed during the Quaternary period as a result of the forces of south-west blowing monsoon and the northern shamal trade wind, coming in from the east.Based on the types of dunes found in the area, it is divided into the high, or upper, Wahiba and low Wahiba. The upper area contains mega-ridge sand systems on a north-south line that are believed to have been formed by monsoon. The dunes of the north, formed at some point after the last regional glaciation, measure up to 100 meters (330 ft) high, with peaks accumulating in the areas just beyond the strongest wind speeds, where declining velocity wind deposited sand. The north and west boundaries of the desert are delineated by the fluvial systems Wadi Batha and Wadi Andam.Beneath the surface sands are an older layer of cemented carbonate sand. Alluvium deposits believed to have originated from the Wadi Batha during the Paleolithic era have been disclosed in the central desert 200 meters (660 ft) beneath the interdune surface.Wind erosion is believed to have contributed to the existence of a nearly level plain in the southwest.
The area is occupied by Bedouins who congregate at Al-Huyawah, an oasis near the border of the desert, between June and September to gather dates. Tribes present in the area at the time of the Royal Geographical Society expedition included, predominately, Al Wahiba (or Yal Wahiba) for whom the region is named, Al-Amr, Al-Bu-Isa, Hikman, Hishm and Janaba.
MINIMALE

Bonsoir Luciano,
A superb minimalist shot with just the red sand and blue sky, as well as the solitary person at far left. Good, colour, sharpness and saturation. Tfs!

Salut Luciano,

Hello Luciano,
A very nice and perfectly simple composition, however not lacking a certain refinement. Just the sky and the sand, divided along the diagonal, could have been a modernist painting, but the inclusion of a person makes it a good photo. Well seen and handled.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Luciano,
Indeed not a typical desert view. The fact that there is no sunshine adds originality. Steep slope of the dune is impressive. The man standing is perfectly placed and gives sense of scale to this scene.

Hello Luciano,
I really like the minimalist composition. The pale blue of the sky and the deep orange of the sand dune go so well together. That lonely person is also very well included at left.

Hello Luciano,
Splendid !!!
This too is convincing proof how you can create the most powerful images with minimal resources. Only two large areas of colour, a slanting line and a hiker in the desert, but even without him the photo was great.
Excellent picture
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hello Luciano, I guess that without the man standing there, we might think that this was a simple painting of pale blue and orange/brown. But as soon as we see the man we know that he is in the desert, and the line is the dune. Excellent observation.
The man is in the best place in the composition for me.
Lovely work.

Hello, Luciano!
I really like the minimalism of this image, it reminds me of a photo I posted a long time ago of Tocantins state, in Brazil, where the man walking on the dunes was TE member lucasgalodoido. Here the diagonal makes the view very attractive too! Wonderful and original composition! Well done!

Ciao Luciano,
This is minimalist perfection. The curve of the sand dune slices beautifully through the frame, and the color of that lone person's clothes is a perfect compliment to the color of the sand. The thumbnail pulled me right in, and the large view is wonderful. :-)

Hello Luciano,
A simple but very attractive composition with the long diagonal line dividing the surface of the photo in two.
I like the warm tones of the dune and the colour contrast with the sky.
The man apparently hesitates before starting the steep climb.

Ciao Luciano,
great composition!
Diagonal lines are always very photogenic and here you captured one which is not often seen by us living in Europe.
By cutting away the fragment of the dune it appears as if going to infinity.
The presence of the person provides a point of reference.
Plus the man seems to be dressed in traditional clothes.
Great reportage,

Oi, Luciano!

Not only perfect minimalism but also an almost abstract work of art. I like the composition based on diagonal. You may be complaining about the light, but I think it enabled you to capture very special colours - the deep red and pale blue.
Have a nice week
