Bye bye Oman, a photo from Ash Sharqiyah, North

Photographer's Note

The last photo of my trip to Oman could not be dedicated to the spectacle of the sunset in the desert. I was lucky enough to see 2 of them, this is the second, an absolutely windy evening, you can see very well the sand that flies, and that cuts the legs of those who had shorts like me. In the WS obviously the setting sun and another image that gives the idea of the wind that was there.

L'ultima foto del mio viaggio in Oman non poteva non essere dedicata allo spettacolo del tramonto nel deserto. Ho avuto la fortuna di vederne 2, questo è il secondo, una serata assolutamente ventosa, si vede molto bene la sabbia che vola, e che taglia le gambe a chi aveva pantaloni corti come me. Nel WS ovviamente il sole che tramonta ed un'altra immagine che da' l'idea del vento che c'era.

Tu as bien capturé le sable qui est déplacé par le vent. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des vêtements des personnes. La lune a une bel effet sur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Hello Luciano,
This looks like the start of a desert storm. The more wind there is, the less visibility due to the large amount of sand in the sky.
You were in Oman in March. I don't know how things are there, but Egypt has many sandstorms in the spring.
Afterwards it feels like a nice experience :)
We still get the beautiful colour contrast between the reddish sand and the blue sky.

Ces personnages pris dans un début de tempête sont fort bien placés et dressés dans la composition.

A beautiful desert landscape underneath the wonderful moon as your last photo from Oman. The two men are well included too, it was quite windy as the sand the distance shows as well.

Ciao Luciano, I like most this sun over the desert looking like an egg yolk. On the main photo, we see a nice moon. Indeed, it seems windy. I spent the night in the desert under the stars in India and it was an unforgettable experience. Nice colours in the evening.
You last photo from Oman, so probably you go for short holidays. Have a good time! You deserve some rest :)

Luciano, the powerful wind makes the sand flying. The two persons wearing the traditional Omani clothing protect their eyes and their noses with their scarfs. The sand has an appealing ochre hue.

Hello Luciano,
You end your series from Oman with perhaps the best photo. It is close to a minimalistic composition, at least colour wise, it shows an obvious kind of action and the moon is a superb detail. I also like the WS of the tourists struggling against the wind. It could have been a main upload, but this composition is more striking and of course locals are always more fun than tourists.

I liked these three images. interesting the main post matching the men in traditional clothes, the moon and the wind taking the sand. excellent images with the local mood and moment. I remember a sunset in atacama desert, the wind so strong throwing sand and salt in our faces, so strongly that was like needles hurting our face.

Fantastic and complete work as farewell to Oman, I would have put as the main photo the sunset with that great sun, very clear and whose circle is clearly seen, both with the sandstorm are very interesting.

What contrasts in your photographs!
You have clearly shown the effects of the sand storm, how the sand is lifted and people find it difficult to be protected from it, yet the sunset seems calm, beautiful and really romantic!
Even on a beach in Scotland the wind was able to create conditions that stung the limbs or lifted sand into the eyes. It must have been so much more difficult here!

Though you named your photo with the caterpillar as the best of 2019, for me its a much better photo. Even its not taken in the Summer. Its a simple, but well-working composition with the two men and the Moon.

fantastic composition. The wind is quite apparent due to the sand flying off the edge of the dune and the people covering their mouths.
Challenging light conditions but the moon explains it all, it was an evening before the sunset which you mentioned.
Altogether a great set of photos from Oman. Probably the first such an extensive coverage of this country here on TrekEarth.
It works well as an advert for holidays there.

Ho adorato le tue foto del deserto dell'Oman e sicuramente questa è la più spettacolare! Questi due uomini sfidando la tempesta di sabbia, ma vestiti di conseguenza! Non prestavano abiti e turbanti ai turisti? - :)

Thanks for sharing this photo.
The amount of negative space for this photo is interesting, but the foreground balances everything out in a way that just makes it pleasing to watch.
Nice little touch adding the moon asa break of the flat sky. Bonus for the details in the moon!
