Photographer's Note
I made sure I arrived as the early bird to the old covered market before I was surrounded by hawkers. One of Kayseri's historical structures is this market with the attached caravanasai and (a place for merchants and camels to rest for the night while traversing the Silk Road - for more on this see http://www.allaboutturkey.com/silkroad.htm#kervansaray )
You can feel the timelessness of the place and it is good to see it still functioning pretty much with the same purpose as it was created for hundreds of years ago.

Hello Dan,
interetsing shot. The ray of light gives the whole market vicinity a wonderful mood. Very nice. Well done.

hi dan
love the lighting. looks like getting up early does have its benefits. the figure down the end looks kind of threatening. i've done a workshop, not that i think you could improve it, but mainly for my own amusement...
well done!!

Hi Dan,
Excellent capture of this ray of sunlight. I like the atmosphere it creates and the silence of the early morning while all the shops are still closed. Very well composed. Well done.

Nice capture of the street before it becomes busy. The timing lends a nice mood to photo just before it becomes busy with people going about their daily bread.
Nice work

Hi Dan, A very eerey shot, it reminds me of the back streets in London at the turn of the last century, you have caught the light very well & the composition is excellent, great focus & well cropped, kind regards Wilson,

Hi Dan,
Yes the lighting, yes the sepia tones and yes the composition. All very engaging.
But it's the details that really make this a memorable image for me. There's a painter's trick of adding in small patches of red here and there in a painting to give cohesion and an overall interest. Here there's the red sign in the background and a can (coke?) in the foreground. Very nice.
I think the man in the background works well and for me accentuates the deserted nature of the street. Any closer and it would be about him rather than the street. If anything he could be a little to the right so he's completely visible but that's probably not important.
A striking image which invokes a real sense of place - the spirit of TE.

Wonderful light and mood captured here - a nice peaceful scene before what I imagine can get quite loud and busy. Though the person is quite far away, he and the light draw your eyes through the picture nicely.
