(Van) is one of the border cities of Turkey near Iran. The majority of the city's population is Kurdish. Kind and friendly people. This city has attracted many Iranian tourists.I was there last week.
The light conditions in the middle of the day were not good. I used more color saturation to make the mountains better in the background.
Akdamar Island (Istanbul Turkish: Akdamar adası) is an island in Lake Van, a prominent Armenian poet (Hovhannes Tumanyan). He has written a poem about the island and a film based on the story of this system has been made in Armenia. Wikipedia

Hello Ali,
I was here in the summer of 1974. It was a fascinating place and this photo captures the view of the small island very well. Considering the bad light conditions you describe you did a good job to give some substance to the distant mountains. The carefully saturated colours make the island very eye-catching. I also like the inclusion of the small ferry and its reflection.

Hello Ali,
A very nice view of the small island in the middle of the calm sea and the boat sailing away from it. The light was fine and the higher mountains in the background emerge nicely from the haze.

Hello Ali,
I visited Van and Akdamar in the summer of 1984.
No snow capped peaks at that time.
So this is a remarkable view for me because I remember the region as quite warm.
Beautiful shot with the rippling waves in the foreground.

Hello Ali,

You describe quite difficult lighting conditions but you have been able to produce a photograph with 'dream-like' conditions.
The vignetting works very well, to concentrate our attention into the centre, where the island and ferry boat stand out against the hazy mountains.

Hi Ali,
First time in your gallery we can see a view from another country than Iran. Beautiful spot. The island has a nice shape and color. I am a bit surprised by the rendering which you chose. It looks as if the weather was nice but you have selected the dark framing around the scene as if pretending it to be an analogue photograph.
