Lake Van is the largest inland lake in Turkey, located west of the city of Van and near the borders of Iran. In the northwestern part of the lake, Mount Sobhan (in Turkish: Süphan) at an altitude of 4,058 meters and in the southern part, the mountains of Ekhtar Shahab (in Turkish: Ihtiyar Şahap) are located. The formation of the Van Salt Lake has been the result of volcanic activity for many years. Its water is supplied from streams that flow from the mountains. The lake is 120 km long, 80 km wide, and its average depth is 171 meters (the deepest part is 451 meters). The area of the bath is 3,755 square kilometers. The Holy Cross Church, located on Akhtamar Island, is one of the tourist attractions of this lake. The bath has sandy beaches and is reached by a network of roads. Hello Ali,
Looking away from the church there are also beautiful views of the lake and the distant mountains. The peaks were still covered with snow, while in the foreground the trees show us that spring has arrived. It's a fine photo with lovely colours.

Hi Ali,
I like so much more photos taken on a good weather day like here! The blue color dominates the scene and yet there are many tones of the blue. The lake itself had a nice color. You have selected a beautiful fragment of the coast around the lake. The blooming trees make it so attractive. The mountains peaking in the distance are spectacular!

A really beautiful view of the calm lake, which is nicely framed in the foreground by the rock at right and the blossoming trees at left. Also the hazy mountains in the distance look great.

Another excellent composition with an atmospheric setting of rugged cliffs, misty snow-capped mountains in the background and a deep lake surrounded by Spring blossoms. Exceptional light, contrast and sharpness.
