Photographer's Note

Ephesus is perhaps the best example in ruins of the center of a Roman city. This is a part that is slightly off the beat track; however, it would have been prime real estate in Roman times. You can see evidence of brick walls, doorways, columns and an ornate fountain.

As for the image, I found something about it with all the square and neatly ordered lines. It seems to command elegance even after over a thousand years of abandonment.
