Extinct Volcano, a photo from Kayseri, Central Anatolia

Photographer's Note

On the way from Kayseri to Nevsehir there are many cones, all extinct volcanos. This one was particularly elegant with its almost perfect conical shape. Luck to find a small cloud, I had to drive back and forth until the cloud would correspond to the volcano as a hat.

I have never expected you have volcanos in Turkey:) This one is really elegant, smooth...Looks great on the blue sky. And the cloud - its a masterpiece!

Hi Izzet, that cloud gives indeed something special to the image. it gives a kind of softnes to the volcano. Well seen.

The cloud at the top of the volcano is as a volute of smoke which will escape from crater

Looks like a mini Fuji! The solitary cloud is well placed in the frame & is suggestive of an eruption of ash & steam. Good sharpness & colour. Tfs!

Perfect symmetry! I know a lot of other people don't like this kind of symmetrical shot (every time I post a photo that's symmetrical I get somebody suggesting a different crop) but I like the symmetical look and I think it is underused. That one cloud over the peak gives us a little hint of what this volcano would be like if it was active - nice touch!

That little cloud is really something. It complements the picture perfectly. You did very well driving around for the best vantage point. The conical shape of the volcano is also interesting. I must have overlooked these when I drove the same road last year. Regards,
