Photographer's Note

Located at Le Théȃtre de I'ȋle in Gatineau, Quebec. A quote from a plaque beside it:
“The sculpture entitled Explorer II by Victor Tolgesy was created during the enthusiastic days of Expo 67, the 1967 World's Fair in Montreal and the preparation of the first expedition to the moon. It is therefore not surprising that the work evokes a space station, all antennas deployed.
You will notice how each piece of metal has been accurately measured and cut so that each point of view of the sculpture always offers a harmonic perspective.”
Victor Tolgesy (1928 – 1980) was a Hungarian-born Canadian sculptor. Several of his public art stand in Ontario.
