Beautiful composition Dan, I like it a lot! The black & white filter gives a special atmosphere to your picture. The image renders very well the form of the driftwood in foreground and I like how you frame this driftwood with the opening in the trees.
Well done!

Perfect capture and B/W pic Dan, bravo. Amazing DOF and compo. I, at first sight, can see a couple of statues on this driftwood.
Well done. Thanks for sharing.

A very pretty shot Dan! Great contrast too. The comp is well balanced with subjects going from the lower left rising up to the upper right. Cheers man!

Great B&W study Dan, it has wonderful foreground interest with the driftwood, a lovely contrasting backcloth of well defined trees and a great low vanishing point sliding away round the corner. Great contrasts of form, texture and light but Man that frame!!

Hi Dan, great shot. I really like the contrast. The fog in the distance gives this shot an eerie feeling to it. Furthermore, the tree in the background frames it nicely and the log provides a strong foreground element. I also really like the frame. This, and you, are going on my favourites list. Cheers, Don.

Beautiful stump with black trees/fog in the background. Very nice composition. I think your border detracts from the main pix. But it's a good shot, nevertheless.

Great texture! What a bizarre piece of driftwood. The fog adds mood.

A fabulous fragment of no-longer floating flotsam you've found here, Daniel. Photo wise, a fundamentally fine image, finished off by a phenomianlly fair frame. Finally, I'd favour a further fragment of firewood falling farther up the image, with a fidgeting fat, but friendly, Filipino fellow (first name Phil) standing on a fast ferry to facilitate a feeling of scale.
Fantastic photograph, and possibly a fitting fixture to add to the fabulous Fox Talbot Musuem (Lacock, Wiltshire).
fffffffffffff......
Regards,
Vic, Fingapore.
PS I forgot to comment on the fog fittingly floating further up the photograph & the flora's foliage finish off a fine formation!
