Photographer's Note
here's a another pic of a northern light. This is not what you see with yours naked eyes. this is the result of a long exposure ( 55 sec)and a high ISO (1600) I process the pic with neat image to take out the noise.

Je suis aussi fasciné par ce phénomène. Les couleurs sont splendides ici mais j'ai l'impression que la pose est un peu trop longue...mais vus tes réglages et la sensibilité utilisée, tu ne devais pas avoir trop le choix, le phénomène ne devait pas être très lumineux...

This is beautiful phenomena and you show it excellently. Well exposed.
Small suggestion: clone out those white spots. I don't know what are they but they look like dust and are very annoying.

ces aurores boréales sont d'une exceptionnelle beauté!Elles sont d'autant plus fantastiques qu'elles se reflètent dans l'eau,ce qui donne un double spectale!A ce propos,je me demande si tu n'aurais pas pu cadrer un peu plus large,de façon à ce qu'on voit un peu plus l'eau qui s'avance vers le bas de la photo,et également les pieds des sapins.La silhouette entière de ceux-ci se détachant du ciel devrait faire vraiment bien!Mais ce n'est qu'une simple suggestion,et ce n'etait peut-être pas possible!Ta photo est quand même d'une beauté stupéfiante!

WOWWWW! What a greath northern light. What would I give to see one once. I am planning to going to this place, but I was planning to go there in Summer and I guess you wount see a norther light at this time, because it does not get dark . I guess this is one of the best pictures on TE. I nice and also technically perfect one!!

Hi Virgile, what a fantastic picture! The calm reflaction was so beautiful, I can even feel the cold temperature of the night. Thank you for sharing so wonderful view! It's said that northern lights change dramatically every second, quite different from standstill picture. I saw many pictures of the amazing view and really hope could see the true view one day.
