Photographer's Note
I seem to get less fluent in Spanish with each passing year since returning from living in Chile, so I have to keep it up somehow. So translating "Colors of the Caribbean" into Spanish seemed like a good idea.
I don't know that I was technically supposed to be here, actually. This shoreline was in front of an upscale hotel, and my brother-in-law said that they get mad if you try to visit "their beach." But I guess legally they don't own the shoreline, so I don't feel too bad about it. :)
Taken at sunrise, and what a beautiful sunrise it was. The camera and the polarizer really picked up the pink in the clouds. As Nelu Goia will point out, of course, f/22 isn't the best for sharpness, but I was going for longer exposure and didn't want to go to the hassle of breaking out my ND filter. :) I also used a 2-stop soft grad.

Hi Clark,
I like the pastel pinks here and the perspective is compelling. Well seen and TFS. Gerald

Wow! Breathtaking colours of the sky. Yup excellent work with the polarizer. Almost looks like fake colours in an oil painting but I do believe it's as true as you've taken it. Slow shutter also did well to soften the details of the breaking waves, keeping the focus on the clouds and colour. Beautiful!

Hi Clark,
Looks almost like a HDR exposure, so bright in the foreground. But seeing that sky, man it's almost too good to be true. What a great colour explosion you have there, truly wonderful.

Wow, what a stunning shot! This has such beautiful lighting and dramatic clouds, but you have also managed to show the foreground quite well too. Beautiful scene and presented very well!

Hi Clark
The soft pastel light is absolutely stunning. The texture of the clouds adds lots of atmosphere. The line of rocks leads nicely from the corner to the beach parasols.

Hi Clark!
I have missed many wonderful postings of yours in the Rockies, but this one is great also. The tropical clouds really show wonderfully, with just great color. The soft light in the foreground really adds alot also. Very nice shot! cheers,

Sweeeeeeet! Man, this pastel colors are incredible. At moments like this the composition is totally secondary. This one is all about the light and colors.
I had the same experience in Dominican Republic. They don't like when non-guests invade 'their' beach.

A great photo. It has everything. I'd like just a little more detail in the huts, hey, you take what you can get. And you got a lot.

hi Clark,
I was browsing photos from Mexico (I've just decided I'll have a week there in mid-June), and found this jewel. love it, the combination of soft pink and pale blue is just right to create a perfectly relaxed holiday mood. compositionally the diagonal of rocks works very well to lead the eye towards the horizon. excellent work, I like it a lot.
best,
Kristine
