Photographer's Note
Wish winter was over part III. More trees on the icy beach of Lake Michigan in Chicago.
Tech: contrast masking, grayscale, curves. This constrast masking procedure in Photoshop helps a lot. You can go to the Tips and Techniques section of the forum to find the tutorial posted by Darren. It's under the heading Everyone should read this.

Very nice composition! I just believe that your image lacks some sharpness. Your theme is excellent though.

It's a beautiful peaceful image Ken, I love that kind of scenes. Even if it looks a bit blurry, I like the soft look of it...
But I was asking myself if I would have included more branches at the top, or avoided them at all?

This one is good too due to a more "symbolic" motive than your previous posting. Namely, the lonely, empty bench in the bare cold landscape. No wonder you're fed up with winter... I tend to agree with Porteplume on the comp (see also my note from yesterday), but I still like it. Alas, the focus is too soft for my taste, to make the contrast stand out a sharper focus would have been more effective.

This series is so nice, Ken, I'm nut sure I like this winter to end. Great composition, I like the contrast very much, very artistic and minimalist. Well done.
