The Lost Island, a photo from Illinois, Midwest

Photographer's Note

The lost island on Rock River in early mornig fog. I took a trip on Rd.2 along Rock River in Northern Illinois to see a colors of the fall. The image looks more like black and white but it is in color. The sun was still not visible because a thick fog. You can see a green color of the leaves if you take a close look. The reflection in the water is not as strong as I showed in my previous photo (duck) on TE.

Nice composition, nice mood, and nice contrast. Indeed it looks a bit like B&W, and interesting you point out to be in colour. It makes it perfect, since the green leaves (actually with a strong greyish tonality) breaks the monotomy of the b&W tones.

The fog seems making strange patterns, I guess it is still raising from the water, as it seems to break the reflexion of the tree on the water. This makes the photo more interesting

The fog adds a lot of atmosphere to the composition and is well enhanced thanks to the fog.

Znakomite zdjęcie - wspaniały pejzaż niczym wspaniały obraz. Subtelna mgła i pewien minimalizm nadaje temu zdjeciu klimat. Bardzo mi sie podoba.
