The act of flagging down a cab is called "hailing"; there's not much to it, just stick out your arm above your head, and pretend you're the Statue of Liberty. When the numbers on the roof of the cab are lit, it is available.

Hello Rui!

this is almost an abstract geometry study. If it weren't for the flag on the top, this would be a post with just two colors: gray and yellow.

Olá Rui,

I like the moment you've captured. The feeling of movement and capture three taxis together. When I think of NYC I think about it. Movement, traffic and big buildings.

Also it's a good composition bicolor

Olá Rui,
I like this photo because it truly represents NYC. The blurred motion of the yellow cabs shows the speed at which the city moves, and the skyscrapers behind them are also iconic. I like the idea of cropping out the flags, but I personally prefer to leave more space on the bottom like you did in the original photo. It is meaningful for me to see this particular shot. My father worked in the building on the right for many years! :-)

nice the snapshot with the passing by blur caps of NY to contrast perfect with the well captured buildings.I like the sensation of the movement as the optical effect that created.

Una interpretazione elegante di NY. Molto bello il grafismo dei grattacieli e il giallo dei taxi che spicca sul prevalente B&N del resto della foto. Senso del movimento e sopratutto atmosfera molto americana. Ben composta e inquadrata.

Greetings Ruis,

So, one cannot actually see a yellow cab, and one cannot really see a skyscraper - but this photo is so New York that it could not possibly be anywhere else. A very clever and well produced view of some NYC archetypes.
