This was the first photo of mine that ran in the paper. The editor called me up and said look a photo of people enjoying the weather. The first thing that came to my head was "crap..." I didnt want just another photo of people sunbathing or running. So I drove around for 100 miles in the area looking till I finally found this boat.

Definately the most engaging picture I have seen here today...I love this low view. The moment is captured really well...I would perhaps have liked to have seen the camera pointed just a touch higher...but who can really complain at this moment?

As a rule, is lens flare a big deal? I have had a few appearences recently, due to using the wrong lens under low-light conditions. I feel it is not too much of a distraction here.

Nice shot...stopped the action well and caught a great twist on the fish. Lens flare isn't bad I agree...if you can remove it I would....but it is a great shot that meets your task of people enjoying the weather very well

Congrats on your first "catch", Mark. The quitessential PJ shot, looking for the angle, always. And you found it, buddy, eschewing cliches as you went. Nice shot and the dangling fish is caught just right.

I missed this one! Excellent balance and obviously the timing. The tilt was essential for the perspective you show and adds a measure of dynamism. Very nice. The idea of fishing to showcase leisure was great. YOur effort paid off.
